neutral turquoise

The temperatures are rising, so I'm embracing a summery attitude, and wearing more tunics and trousers. It's a really sensible option, as opaques are not comfortable anymore and I'm not brave enough to go out barelegged (even if I've been tempted). So I've worn some favourite neutral trousers. My own kind of neutral, obviously, but it matches everything in my wardrobe!.

- turquoise trousers, CandA (worn for the first time on May2014)) / pantalón turquesa, del CandA, estrenado en May2014
- purple tunic, sewed by me on May2015 / túnica morada, costura casera, de May2015
- sneakers, Adidas outlet (old) / zapatillas
- scarf, retail (old) / pañuelo
- cork bag, Fine Cork Portugal / bolso de corcho
This crochet project started back in november2020 and I had to let it rest for a while until my wrist felt better. I'm taking it easy anyway, crocheting some flowers and adding them to the piece, which is supposed to be a waistcoat, growing it quite organically.

This is a lovely plaza, built around 1910, with some beautiful buildings that once were the local newspaper headquarters. There was also a theatre on one side, now a cinema which is closed due to the situation (I miss it!). I think these are some magnificent balconies!

- joyful tunic, retail, Antica Sartoria (Aug2018 / túnica de Antica Sartoria, de Agosto2018
- striped t-shirt, CandA (old) / camiseta de rayas
- sneakers, Reebok outlet / zapatillas
- pendant, artisan fair (old) / colgante
- bracelet, charity market (old) / pulsera, de un mercadillo solidario

Still smiling under my mask (and wearing lipstick). Hope you're keeping yourselves safe and fabulous!

Aunque lleve mascarilla, sigo llevando también sonrisa y labios rojos. ¡Espero que sigáis con salud y todo lo estupendos que podáis!

  1. Turquoise is a great colour for you, as is the purple. I'm fascinated by your crocheting. I only know one stitch so the only thing I can make are dish rags.
Here's hoping the spring continues to warm nicely.
    Stay well.

    1. Thanks, Goody, purple and turquoise are favourite colours for me!.
My crocheting is not very professional, and I have to watch some tutorials everytime I try a new stitch. And then I make it my own way!

  2. Your streets are quite lovely, unlike the ones in my city which have lots of boarded up windows and never-ending construction. It is getting too warm to wear tights and leggings here so pants have been my go-to as well. Purple and turquoise is such an eye-catching pairing.

    1. mwhaha, dear Shelley, there are lots of derelict buildings and empty plots around this plaza, which is in a quite decadent area. But there is still beauty in architectural details and even in the ruined buildings. The new constructions are incredibly ugly!
Spring is for pants, really comfort is first!

  3. Hurray for Spring and warmer weather. It's happening here as well, but I think I'll keep wearing opaques for a while. I don't mind wearing them, and I'm always having a hard time saying goodbye to them. I won't be brave enough to go bare-legged until May at least, unless it gets really warm!
I do love your trousers and tunic solutions and I absolutely adore your kind of neutrals :-) The first outfit, with its mix of purple and turquoise is "trademark Monica" and your second one, with its joyful tunic of many colours, is a true sight for sore eyes!
Wow, that balconied building is stunning! I love that kind of architecture.
Love your crochet flowers and the fact that you're smiling (and wearing lipstick!) under your mask! Besos xxx

    1. I also love my opaques, but they make me feel uncomfortable as soon as spring arrives. Hot flashes don't help!
Lovely comment on my favourite color combo!, I'd love to consider it as a trademark!
It's so sad that we can't see each other's faces. So I like to show you that I'm still smiling under my mask!

    1. I try my best at picking any interesting background when possible!, but many times all I have is a shady alley!

  6. Glad you're having warm Spring weather. I love your purple tunic and the 'joyful' tunic is indeed joyful. I love it to death - just so pretty. I think trousers and tunic are very comfortable but stylish options and as you know I'm a big fan of them, too. The crochet project is looking amazing and I bet it will be a gorgeous waistcoat when it's completed.I haven't crocheted anything for more than a fortnight now; I need my crochet mojo back.

    You are looking fabulous!

This crochet Project is taking me more time and effort tan expected, as every flower have to be placed and sewed and I have not a pattern. But enjoying the creative process!

  7. I'm still in tights, but not for too much longer, I think, maybe a month until I risk some bare legs! I love your purple and turquoise outfit! Your crocheting is coming along nicely, Monica! I am such a dilettante and have left my crocheting to gather dust (lol) while I start working on art.

Those are amazing balconies! What beautiful architecture!
