Long Time & Summer

Actually, it has been a long time since I posted, for no particular reason except that I've been fed up with computers after work (hectic season at the office!), and it's too hot in the evenings to stay near a computer. Totally business as usual every Summer!.


De nuevo se me ha hecho tarde en publicar, sin más razones que estar muy cansada del ordenador como para seguir usándolo después del trabajo (es temporada alta en la oficina!), y que hace demasiado calor por las tardes. Pasa lo mismo cada verano, es lo normal!

Starting with a repeat offender, as same dress and jacket were worn previously together (at least twice!) and I think they make a great ensemble. That dress came from Vinted (label Toscane) and jacket was acquired at Sunday street market (also second hand). Sandals by Chiruca. Necklace was charity shopped. Earrings by MateriaRica (retail).

Empezando con un reincidente, el mismo vestido y la misma chaquetita que me he puesto por lo menos otras dos veces anteriormente, y creo que hacen un bonito conjunto. El vestido vino de Vinted (marca Toscane) y la chaqueta del mercadillo del domingo, también de segunda mano. Sandalias de Chiruca. Collar de una tienda solidaria. Pendientes MateriaRica.

We had some delightfully warm days (in my opinion) as the temperature was not higher than 28ºC, and it was chilly in the mornings and evenings. That's the kind of summer weather I really enjoy, because it's possible to go out, walk, lead a life!. And it's also the perfect weather to do some light layering, and wear that crochet cardi-vest again. Trousers were recently acquired in a clearance sale/outlet. T-shirt was made of a second hand dress. Adidas sneakers (outlet).

Tuvimos unos cuantos días de un tiempo buenísimo (en mi opinión) con temperaturas por debajo de los 28ºC, y unas mañanas y tardes fresquitas fantásticas. Este es el tipo de verano que me gusta, cuando se puede salir, andar por la calle e incluso llevar una vida. Y también es el momento perfecto para echarse por encima una chaquetita-chaleco como esta de ganchillo. El pantalón lo compré hace poco en un outlet. Camiseta hecha de un vestido de segunda mano. Zapatillas de Adidas (outlet)

We had our first heatwave of the year, which is totally good news as it was so late as July and it lasted just a few days. Phew. Time to wear lightweight clothes, linen, floaty tunics. I picked this linen tunic, which was acquired second hand some years ago and then dyed in 'orange'. Trousers by PuntRoma (old). Sandals by Skechers. Usual straw bag from Etsy years ago. Necklace was a present (years ago). Second hand bracelets.
Llegó la primera ola de calor del año, pero es un alivio que haya tardado hasta Julio en aparecer y que durase sólo unos pocos días aquí. Menos mal. Así que es la hora de la ropa ligera y floja de tejidos frescos. Elegí esta túnica de lino, que compré de segunda mano hace unos años y luego la teñí de 'naranja' (esa era la idea). Pantalón de PuntRoma, del año pasado. Sandalias Skechers. El habitual bolso de paja que compré en Etsy hace años. El collar fue un regalo, hace tiempo ya. Pulseras de segunda mano también.

That's a recent addition to my Heatwave Capsule, a red dress acquired at Vinted. And another recent addition was The Hat, which was shopped retail: I splurged on my own birthday present!. I usually treat myself on my birthday and shop something flamboyant, or luxurious (considering my own budget) or apparently not sensible. But I've realised that my birthday presents have been loved for years, even decades, and I've got lots of wears and lots of fun from them, so those 'investments' have made me feel more comfident about my own skills. And, obviously, a massive hat is very practical in the sunny Spain!

Otra prenda más para los momentos de ola de calor, este vestido rojo que hace poco compré en Vinted. Y otra reciente adquisición es el sombrero, que compré en una tienda local, dándome un lujo por mi cumpleaños. Suelo hacerme un regalo por mi cumple y me compro algo que se sale de mi presupuesto habitual, extravagante o que parece poco práctico. Pero luego resulta que me lo pongo muchísimo (décadas) y me viene genial, así que estas 'inversiones' me han hecho ganar confianza en mi manera de ver las cosas. Y, por supuesto, un sombrero enorme es muy práctico, el verano es largo!

Another summer classic ensemble, a maxi skirt and a peasant-style top. That jean jacket was a lucky find at Sunday street market. Top was self-sewed. Sandals by Wonders (old).
That skirt is 'homegrown vintage' as I own it since my teens and still wear it (thanks to an elastic waist and that oversized 80's style). I've been using a tripod to take my photos, and took some 'cropped' images, so made the most of them to show you that skirt!. I miss my photographer (aka Mr.A.) but his work timetable has changed so I have to handle myself (camera and timer, old style!)

La falda es vintage de mi propia cosecha, porque la tengo desde que era menor de edad y todavía sigue ponible (gracias a la cintura elástica y aquella moda de ropa tres tallas más grande de los ochenta). Me he hecho con un trípode para sacarme fotos, y alguna foto me salió cortada, así que aquí la aprovecho para mostrar la falda vintage. Echo de menos a mi fotógrafo habitual (Mr.A.) pero ahora que ha cambiado de horario tengo que arreglármelas por mí misma con la cámara y el temporizador, al viejo estilo.

I've realised that some of my pendants have been neglected, so decided to give them a twist by acquiring a pair of different length chains. They were unexpensive and totally made a difference. Love layering!
That's my 'lockdown patchwork dress' (its name explains itself) and another favourite one in my Heatwave Capsule as it feels fresh even when it's up 38ºC!.

No me estaba poniendo mucho algunos de mis colgantes, así que decidí darles otro aire y compré unas cadenitas de diferente largo, que no fueron nada caras y me dan muchas posibilidades.
Este es un vestido de patchwork que me hice durante el confinamiento y, mira por donde, no me da ningún mal recuerdo, y me gusta mucho para las épocas de calor, es fresquísimo.

Summer & windows

Last week was particularly busy, as I went back to work only to find a mountain of papers and emails waiting for me (after only five days away!). Then I had to take a pair of free days because we got our windows replaced, so there were some workers at home. We were fed up with our old windows (not particularly old, but never worked properly) so decided to invest some money in efficient windows. It took two days of chaos, floors covered in cardboard, some furniture under sheets, noises and usual stuff. Then it took one whole day to clean up the mess. So it has been a totally unproductive week, considering both my office work and my blogging activities. And I'm ok with it! (and happy that I'm keeping my stress levels under control!)

La semana pasada fue especialmente ajetreada, con la vuelta al trabajo sólo para encontrar una pila de papeles y emails esperándome (y sólo fueron cinco días fuera). Luego tuve que pedir otros dos días libres porque vinieron a cambiarnos las ventanas, así que tuvimos obras en casa. Estábamos hartos de las ventanas viejas (que tampoco eran especialmente viejas, pero nunca fueron bien), así que decidimos invertir en ventanas eficientes. Dos días de tener la casa patas arriba, los suelos cubiertos de cartones, los muebles bajo sábanas, ruidos y todas las molestias habituales. Y luego otro día entero para limpiar un poco. Así que tuve una semana de lo más improductiva, tanto en mi oficina como en casa y en el blog, y no me he alterado!: muy buena noticia mantener los niveles de estrés controlados.

This is what I wore in my first day at work after holidays, and it was a 'repeat offender' (here). I like to have some of those 'repeat offenders' on hand, they're so useful when I'm in a rush or feel uninspired, so totally happy with wearing same ensembles again and again. That orange blouse was made of a second hand dress, trousers by Kiabi, summer trench by LaRedoute (ages old), Adidas sneakers, ancient bag.

Esto es lo que me puse en mi primer día en la oficina después de las vacaciones, y es repetido, ya lo llevé antes (aquí). Me gusta tener alguno de estos 'reincidentes' a mano para las mañanas en que tengo prisa o no se me ocurre nada nuevo. No tengo ningún problema en repetir modelito. La blusa naranja salió de un vestido de segunda mano, pantalón nuevo de Kiabi, gabardina de verano de LaRedoute (antigüita), zapatillas Adidas y bolso de hace siglos.

Back to the office in a chilly Monday morning, I wore a denim jacket (pre-loved) but only for a short while. The temperatures have been rising and becoming too hot for my taste. I can deal with thirty-something but I have realized that 35ºc with southern wind is my limit, that's out of my comfort zone. Southern wind makes a difference!
Second hand shirt and skirt (from Sunday street market), both were revamped by me (that skirt was made of a dress, I just cut out the top). Chiruca sandals. Vintage beads (homegrown vintage, actually, as those wood beads were acquired back in the 80's by Mom and me)

De nuevo de vuelta en la oficina en una mañana de lunes algo fresca, me puse una chaqueta denim (segunda mano) pero sólo un ratito. Las temperaturas han ido subiendo y volviéndose demasiado para mi gusto. Llevo bien el calor hasta los treinta, pero cuando se pone en 35ºc con viento sur ya está fuera de mi zona de comfort. El viento sur es lo que marca la diferencia!.
La falda y blusa son de segunda mano, del mercadillo del domingo, y ambas fueron reformadas por mí (la falda salió de un vestido, simplemente cortar). Sandalias Chiruca. Collar de cuentas de madera, tan antiguo que ya es vintage de cosecha propia, Mamá y yo lo compramos allá por los ochenta.

I changed into a dress in the evening to go for a walk and run errands with Mr.A. Since he's not free in the mornings anymore we have to run errands in the evening most days (not a bad plan!), so we've changed our routine!. It was really hot and we sat on a terrace for some beers (and yes, it was Monday!)

Por la tarde me cambié a un vestido, para salir a hacer recados con Mr.A. Desde que ya no está libre por las mañanas tenemos que dedicarnos a hacer recados y compras por la tarde (no es un mal plan!), así que hemos cambiado de rutina. Hacía mucho calor y nos sentamos en una terraza a tomar unas cervezas (sí, en lunes).

Next day I wore another skirt and blouse ensemble, everything was second hand too (except sandals by Chiruca). Earrings by MateriaRica were retail shopped. It was another hot day, but I like to carry a shawl or cotton scarf because of the air conditioning at the office (some coworkers are huge fans of it!)

Otra falda y blusa al día siguiente, de nuevo todo de segunda mano (excepto las sandalias de Chiruca). Pendientes de una tienda local, marca MateriaRica. Otro día de calor, pero suelo llevar un chal o pañuelo de algodón por el aire acondicionado en la oficina (hay gente a la que le encanta el aire).

That crochet cardi-vest is becoming a key piece for chilly mornings or evenings, very versatile and easy to match!. That skirt was embellished by me, I sewed some stripes and pieces of fabric to a plain turquoise skirt (second hand). Blouse was acquired second hand and then revamped by me. Sandals by Chiruca. Charity shopped necklace.

Esta chaqueta-chaleco de ganchillo se está convirtiendo en una pieza clave para las mañanas o tardes más frescas, es muy fácil de combinar. La falda lleva unas 'mejoras', ya que le cosí unas tiras y trozos de telas a una falda turquesa de segunda mano. La blusa también es de segunda mano y también fue 'mejorada'. Sandalias Chiruca. Collar de un mercadillo solidario.

Seaside Vibes

We took some free days last week and went on an excursion to the coast. The nearest coast, actually, which is the basque coast, famous by its lack of sunny weather even in the summertime (northern coast of Spain is not so sunny as proverbially advertised Sunny Spain!). So rain was in the menu, but also some delightful food (as that region is a gastronomic mecca). It only took us two hours and a half to arrive to Getaria (info and photos), a fishing village, quite picturesque and touristic, with a small beach. As it was nor weekend nor high season, we had hoped a quiet holiday. Finally, there were a tolerable amount of people (most of them locals) in the famous tabernas and restaurants, but it will be a different thing next months. Not a huge fan myself of going to the beach in the height of summer, when everything is eyewatering expensive and/or crowded. So much better to enjoy that quiet 'fishing village' atmosphere where it still can be found!

La semana pasada nos tomamos unos días libres y nos fuimos de viaje al mar. La costa más cercana es la costa vasca, que es famosa por los veranos fresquitos tan típicos del norte, así que no esperábamos calor. La lluvia estaba en el menú y también la comida estupenda que es uno de los grandes atractivos de la zona. Llegamos en dos horas y media a Getaria, pueblo pesquero bastante turístico y pintoresco, que tiene además una playita muy mona. Como no era fin de semana ni temporada alta esperábamos cierta tranquilidad. Al final había gente sin excesos, muchos locales, y se podía disfrutar de los famosos bares de pintxos y restaurantes, pero en los próximos meses será otra cosa. El veraneo en la playa no es para mí en absoluto, todo me parece llenísimo y carísimo. Prefiero ir a los sitios fuera de temporada, y ver ese ambiente de pueblo pesquero cuando todavía exista.

We also visited the nearby village of Zarautz (info and photos) where we walked through the promenade and the old village, had a coffee on a terrace, windowshopped and then had lunch at a local taberna. Totally fab if you fancy some cute boutiques and great restaurants. And no, I didn't shopped anything!.

También fuimos a visitar Zarautz que está tan cerca, y allí recorrimos el paseo marítimo y el casco viejo, tomamos un café en una terraza, vimos escaparates y luego nos fuimos a comer. Estupendo sitio si te gustan las tiendas cuquis y los restaurantes y bares. Y no, no me compré nada!.

Back in Getaria, we had to visit the Balenciaga Museum!. The building itself is really interesting, but the exhibition is breathtakingly beautiful. They change the clothes in exhibition frequently, because of their fragility, so you can see something different if you visit it again and again!. Obviously I was in total delight and watched every dress and every detail with plenty of oohhs and aahs. So magnificent!. Didn't take photos, as the lighting conditions were poor, due to the delicacy of fabrics, but couldn't help but taking a photo of that orange wonder (I'm not talking about Mr.A. who was sporting an orange t-shirt too!)

De vuelta en Getaria, teníamos que visitar el Museo Balenciaga. El edificio en sí es interesante, pero es que la exposición es maravillosa. Cambian las prendas en exposición frecuentemente para preservarlas, así que puedes ver algo diferente en una próxima visita. Claro está que yo estaba encantada y parándome delante de cada vestido y cada detalle para admirarlo y quedarme fascinada. No saqué fotos, porque la luz era muy escasa, para la conservación de las telas, pero no pude menos que sacar una foto de esta maravilla en naranja (y no estoy hablando de Mr.A. que llevaba una camiseta naranja también!)

Back to real life, we had to stock up the fridge so stopped at a local farm to buy cherries and nectarines. So beautiful trees and also beautiful greenery all around, we have had some welcomed spring rain this year!

De vuelta a la vida real, teníamos que rellenar el frigo así que paramos en un caserío aquí al lado a comprar cerezas y nectarinas. Las lluvias de primavera han dejado todo tan verde que da gusto verlo, y los árboles estaban muy bonitos también.

Summer Blues

We're still in a springlike mood concerning the weather. We had some Real Summer weather on Monday, and had also summery temperatures next days (I had to read it in my agenda, days become blurry in my mind as I'm notoriously more stressed than usual, and obviously more stressed than I'd like to be). Then a sudden change happened on Thursday, which was overclouded and stormy. Then back to sunny days. Many people are complaining about the lack of Real Summer, but not me. I'm happy in these balmy 20-25ºc!

Todavía seguimos en modo primaveral en lo que respecta al clima. El lunes tuvimos un tiempo de verano total y bastante calor los días siguientes (he tenido que leerlo en la agenda, porque me cuesta recordar los detalles, los días se me vuelven borrosos porque estoy muy ocupada, bastante estresada en el trabajo, lo cual evidentemente no me gusta). Luego el jueves cambió de pronto a nublado, oscuro y tormentas. Luego de vuelta el sol. Y aún así, hay mucha gente quejándose de la ausencia del verano, pero personalmente estoy encantada de estas temperaturas de 20-25ºc que por mí podían seguir sin subir más.

My first 'Repeat Offender' was that dress (from Vinted). Since I shopped it I've worn it (at least) ten times, twice during my Canarian holidays back in April. So it was a 'luggage proof' tested dress, unwrinkable and takes a minimum space in the case. I'd love to take it to any southern holiday in the future. Totally my kind of comfy dress and I'm making the most of it!

Mi primer 'reincidente' es este vestido de Vinted. Desde que lo compré me lo he puesto al menos diez veces, dos de ellas durante mis vacaciones en Canarias en abril. Así que es un vestido a prueba de equipajes, ya lo he probado y ni se arruga ni ocupa casi en la maleta, así que me encantaría llevármelo a otras aventuras veraniegas en el futuro. Es mi tipo de vestido y le estoy sacando mucho partido!

More blue colour in another comfy outfit I wore for a walk on Sunday morning. Then I met my friend M. for a rummage at street market and a beer on a terrace, when Mr.A. joined us. It was a windy morning so perfect occasion for a lightweight crochet cardi-vest.

Más color azul y más comodidad para un paseo el domingo por la mañana. Luego quedé con mi amiga M. para revolver en el mercadillo y tomar una cervecita en una terraza, que fue cuando se nos unió Mr.A. Hacía bastante viento, así que fue buena idea ponerme esta chaqueta de ganchillo ligera.

That's my second 'Repeat Offender' of the week, another viscose dress (Vinted) I wore on a hot Monday. As this kind of dress don't need much more than a necklace or two, I layered them. So I wore one of my silver pendants, and some glass beads that used to be my grandma's. Properly vintage. And sandals by Chiruca (I'm a huge fan of this local label!).
We had some Real Summer days, which means sandals 'morning to evening' and no need of any cardi (I walked to work in that lightweight dress and a scarf). But it didn't last!.

Este es mi segund 'reincidente' de la semana, otro vestido de viscosa de Vinted que me puse el lunes, que hizo calor. Este tipo de vestido no necesita mucho más que unos collares, así que me puse unos cuantos. El colgante de plata lo tengo hace años, y los collares de cuentas de vidrio fueron de mi abuela. Vintage de verdad. Y las sandalias de Chiruca, apoyando a una marca local.
Tuvimos unos días de auténtico verano, de los de 'sandalias de la mañana a la noche', y ni siquiera me molesté en llevar chaqueta: salí así mismo por la mañana bien temprano, en vestido y un pañuelito al cuello.

We went for a walk near the river banks on Wednesday and stopped to watch the cherry trees. They provide a fabulous show when blooming and now provide food for birds (and people, but people are so greedy to pick cherries when they're still unripe). Anyway, it was a beautiful walk as it only rained when we were sheltered in a café.

El miércoles se nos ocurrió salir a caminar por el parque del río y aquí nos paramos a ver los cerezos. Cuando florecen son un espectáculo y ahora proporcionan comida a los pájaros (y a algunas personas, aunque sean tan ansiosas que se llevan las cerezas verdes). En cualquier caso, fue un paseo muy bueno y sólo llovió cuando ya habíamos llegado a refugiarnos a un café, una suerte (aunque llevábamos paraguas).

Those cherries were not picked from random trees, but shopped from local producers. We bought in bulk!. So I baked some clafoutis!

Estas cerezas no son de árboles del parque, las compramos en un almacén de un productor local. Y compramos en cantidad, así que he hecho algún que otro clafoutis!

Thursday outfit was a totally different thing!. The only reason to take such crap photos was to show how seasons switched in a day. The temperature plummeted and it was a stormy day, rained cats and dogs!. So I wore my Seasalt jacket over my summery clothes, very sensible, but then I picked some wide trousers that got totally wet in the rain. Real Life.

El jueves ya fue totalmente diferente. La única razón por la que me saqué estas fotos tan pochas era mostrar cómo habíamos cambiado de estación de un día para otro. Desplome de temperaturas y un día oscuro y lluvioso. Así que me puse esta chaqueta de Seasalt, impermeable, muy prudente por mi parte, pero elegí unos pantalones anchos que se me mojaron en la lluvia. La vida es Así!.

-And that is my fifth Vinted dress, and probably one of the most serendipious finds as a second-hand shopper. Long story short: years ago I bought a viscose knit dress at Sunday street market, it was a little bit faded but still rocking it (in my book). Then I wore it (for some years!) until it was really worn out and had to be discarded last summer. So imagine my joy when I found an identical dress at Vinted (mint condition and my size!). I had not a real fondness for that dress but I welcome serendipity. And I've also considered it a signal to stop buying dresses (or anything) at second hand apps.

Y este es el quinto vestido que compré en Vinted y también una de las casualidades más curiosas como compradora de segunda mano. Para resumir: hace años me compré un vestido de punto de viscosa en el mercadillo y, aunque algo descolorido, me pareció que todavía molaba (en mi opinión). Así que me lo puse (durante años) hasta que ya estaba desgastado y finalmente lo descarté el verano pasado. Así que imaginad mi sorpresa cuando encontré un vestido idéntico en Vinted, en perfectas condiciones y en mi talla. Tampoco es que tuviera un apego especial por este vestido, pero me pareció una casualidad muy conveniente. Y también una señal de que ya vale de comprar vestidos (o lo que sea) en estas apps de segunda mano.

I wore same dress on Saturday too, when we went for an urban walk and ran errands (local market, bakery, book shop). I'm glad we have all those things in a ten minutes distance, that's totally a privilege!

Repetí vestido el sábado de nuevo, cuando salimos a dar un paseo por la ciudad y hacer recados (al mercado, panadería, librería). Me alegra tener todos estos servicios a diez minutos de distancia, es un privilegio.

Comfy & June

Once more I've been too busy to blog, even to comment (despite I keep on having a look at your blogs and IG posts!). I could offer some good excuses as it was another hectic week at work, there were lots of mundane tasks to be done before (local) bank holidays and finally Mr.A.'s work timetable has changed (for good!), so we had to adapt ourselves. And we also had visitors at home for a week or so, then Mr.A.'s brother and family came home for lunch on Saturday, and my friend M. came for lunch (and a sewing evening) on Sunday too. I've been busy these days!.

Otra vez, de nuevo, he estado muy liada para publicar nada, ni para comentar (aunque sigo visitando blogs y cuentas de IG, a ratos!). Podría tener algunas buenas excusas, ya que he tenido otra semana de mucho trabajo, un montón de tareas que completar antes de unos días de fiestas locales y, finalmente, que ha cambiado el horario de trabajo de Mr.A. (buena noticia) así que hemos tenido que adaptarnos. Y también hemos tenido visitas en casa durante toda la semana pasada, luego vinieron el hermano de Mr.A. y familia a comer el sábado, y mi amiga M. vino el domingo a comer y a tener nuestra habitual sesión de costura. ¡He estado ocupada!

I'm happy to welcome some summer colourful clothes into my wardrobe, as I finally unpacked all the bags labelled 'Verano'. Just in time!, it was hot (up to 30ºc) for some days (totally normal) but also overcast and humid so it felt quite unpleasant. But I wore some (recently acquired) lightweight clothes which made me feel better!. Those trousers were shopped retail some weeks ago, even if I'm still focused on not shopping new clothes anymore. But sometimes I break my own rules!.
That orange blouse was made of a dress I shopped at Vinted. I cut it to create a blouse and a friend used the leftover fabric in a sewing project, so nothing was wasted!. We usually swap fabrics, it's so useful to rely on friends' stash!, that multiplies the possibilities!

Estoy encantada de tener de vuelta toda mi ropa de verano en mi armario, ya he trasladado todas las bolsas con la etiqueta 'verano'. Justo a tiempo, ya que hizo calor (más de 30) unos cuantos días, lo que es totalmente normal, aunque estaba bochornoso y cubierto, así que la sensación era pesada. Pero me puse algunas prendas bien coloridas (y nuevas!) que siempre ayuda a sentirse mejor. Los pantalones fueron una compra reciente, hace unas semanas, aunque sigo centrada en no comprar ropa nueva nunca más. Pero a veces una rompe sus propias reglas!.
La blusa naranja la hice con un vestido de Vinted, lo corté para crear la blusa y una amiga aprovechó la tela sobrante para otro proyecto de costura, así que nada se desperdicia!. Normalmente compartimos telas y demás entre nosotras, es estupendo contar con los recursos de las amigas además de los propios, multiplica las posibilidades!.

Something comfy to go to work on Tuesday, when it was still chilly in the mornings, so a cardi was a great idea. I crocheted that cardi last year, wore it a lot of times and received some compliments!. Trousers were sewed by me (years ago) and I also revamped that blouse (it was made by cutting a dress, again!). Sandals by Yokono. Charity shopped necklace. That straw bag was acquired from Etsy (years ago), still strong!.

El martes me puse algo cómodo para ir a trabajar, cuando todavía estaba fresquete por la mañana, así que una chaquetita venía muy bien. Esta chaqueta la hice en ganchillo el año pasado, me la puse un montón y recibió varios cumplidos!. El pantalón es de costura propia, de hace años, y también lleva costura propia la blusa, que está hecha cortando un vestido de segunda mano (otra vez). Sandalias de Yokono. Collar de un mercadillo solidario. Bolso de paja de Etsy de hace años, sigue genial!.

And that's another dress I shopped at Vinted. Not the best example myself, as I shopped not less than five dresses!, blame on the sirens' song of second hand apps!. Anyway, this kind of apps sell some 'virtuous feelings' because they help to recycle and reuse clothes (their adverts are all about that!), but overconsumption is still part of their business model, and obviously, clothes have to be delivered at an environmental cost. So I don't feel particularly virtuous, despite cute adverts.

Y este es otro vestido comprado en Vinted. No soy un buen ejemplo, ya que compré nada menos que cinco vestidos, he caído en las redes de las apps de compra-venta!. Está claro que este tipo de páginas te venden ese sentimiento de 'buen rollo' porque dicen que ayudan a reciclar y reutilizar la ropa (sus anuncios nos venden esta idea todo el rato) pero su modelo de negocio sigue basándose en el consumo masivo y evidentemente el envío de los paquetes también lleva un coste ambiental. Así que nada de sentirse superior ni más virtuosa, a pesar de esos anuncios cuquis.

Actually I'm not a huge fan of pastel colours, but that dress tickled my fancy. It's lightweight swooshy viscose, so totally suitable for any summery day. I added some charity shopped beads and a silver pendant. And sandals by Chiruca (old). It's one of the things I love more of Summer: putting together an outfit is so easy, just throwing on a dress!.

Nunca he sido muy aficionada a los colores pastel, pero este vestido sí que me atrajo. Es de una viscosa muy ligera y vaporosa, así que perfecto para días de verano. Me puse también un collar de bolitas que compré en Cáritas, y un colgante de plata antigüito. Sandalias de Chiruca. Una de las cosas que más gustan del verano es esta facilidad de echarse encima un vestido y estar lista!

That's another one of the five Vinted dresses I've shopped. Whatever the weather, Red is a fab&fav colour, so lovely as a Winter colour (I do love a red coat) as joyful in the Summer. And obviously, any bold and graphic print totally captivates me!

Este es otro de los cinco vestidos que compré en Vinted. En cualquier época del año, el rojo es un color que funciona y además me gusta, tanto en invierno como en verano. Y además, siempre me fascina un estampado gráfico en color vivo.

The weather changed abruptely into springlike weather in the weekend, it was quite colder than previous days. Actually I didn't care too much as it was a perfect weather for walks and run errands (my usual outdoors activities!). It was a holiday bank both Monday and Tuesday, due to local festive celebrations, but we're not huge fans of crowds. I just payed a visit to the (clichéd) Renaissance theme fair. And we also visited nearby villages (where it was not a holiday bank!) where we did our groceries shopping and some mundane tasks. I lead such an interesting life!

El tiempo cambió de pronto y se puso muy 'primaveral' el fin de semana, bastante más frío que días anteriores. En realidad no me importó nada, me parece mejor para mis habituales paseos o salir a hacer recados, que es lo que hago normalmente. Tuvimos dos días festivos, lunes y martes, por ser fiesta local de la ciudad, pero tampoco nos gustan mucho las aglomeraciones, así que sólo le hice una visita al mercado 'supuestamente renacentista' de siempre. Y aprovechamos para visitar algún pueblo cercano, donde no era festivo, para hacer compra y recados bastante cotidianos, ya sabéis que llevo una vida interesantísima!

May & Spring

Last week was totally spring-like, mixed weather and chilly mornings included, so typical of this unpredictable season. It has been also typically spring-like at work as hectic season has arrived to stay. Which means that sometimes I'm not that tranquil kind of person I'd like to be. I've realized that comfy and colourful clothes help me to manage it and keep calm, so Colour Therapy to the rescue!

La semana pasada fue total y típicamente primaveral, tiempo revuelto y mañanas frías incluídas. También ha llegado la primavera al trabajo, que marca el inicio de la temporada alta, por lo que a veces se pierde esa tranquilidad que me gustaría mantener. Pero siempre se puede recurrir a ponerse algo cómodo y colorido para afrontar el día y sentirse al menos a gusto con una misma. ¡Color al rescate!

I wore recently that crochet top, but now I've found a perfect match in my wardrobe, so amazing!. These trousers were acquired at a clearance sale and then revamped (I added a strip of turquoise silk on both sides to make them wider, and more swooshy, always a great idea to add more swooshiness!).
It was a summery day, but chilly in the morning (as usual) so it was not so great idea to wear those sandals to go to work, but it was ok when coming home for lunch. It's that time of the year when one can't dress comfortably for the whole day!.

Ya me había puesto este top de ganchillo anteriormente pero ahora he encontrado una combinación perfecta en mi armario, una maravilla!. Estos pantalones los compré en una liquidación y luego los reformé añadiendo una tira de seda turquesa a cada lado para hacerlos más anchos y vaporosos, siempre es estupendo un pantalón ligero y flotante.
Un día muy veraniego pero hacía fresquete por la mañana (como de costumbre), así que no fue tan buena idea ponerme sandalias para ir a trabajar, pero luego cuando volvía a casa a comer hacía calor y me vinieron bien. Estamos en esa época del año en que una no puede vestirse para ir cómoda de la mañana a la noche!

Me puse también ropa cómoda el miércoles, ya que iba a ser un día de calor y también de mucho trabajo, así que mejor estar preparada.

Nothing new to be seen on Thursday!. More pre-loved clothes, as both floral trousers and peasant blouse came from Sunday street market too. Actually, I keep visiting it every Sunday, even if I've become pickier and only buy when I find quality and/or fabulousness. And it's also a chance to meet my friend M. for a good chat, some rummaging and lots of fun. Not a bad plan for a Sunday morning.
We went for a walk in the evening and have a beer at a terrace, even if it was windy and clouds were looking menacing. But finally it didn't rain, so it was a lovely evening!.

Nada nuevo que ver el jueves!. Más ropa de segunda mano, ya que tanto los pantalones de flores como el blusón vinieron del mercadillo también. En realidad, sigo yendo al mercadillo cada domingo, aunque me he vuelto más quisquillosa y ya sólo compro si encuentro calidad y/o fabulosidad. Y también porque es una ocasión de quedar con mi amiga M. para charlar, revolver y reírnos mucho.
Por la tarde salimos a hacer recados y tomamos una cervecita en una terraza, aunque se levantó viento y las nubes se estaban poniendo amenazantes, pero al final no llovió y la tarde salió estupendamente.

The weather changed on Friday, the temperature plumeted and we had that distinctive chilly northern wind. So I picked some layers to keep me comfy, and added a cardi over my short sleeved dress and then a denim jacket and even a wool scarf. Totally into a springlike mood, I wore sandals and a wool scarf.

El tiempo cambió el viernes, la temperatura cayó bastante y se levantó ese vientecillo del norte tan característico. Así que me puse unas cuantas capas para seguir cómoda, así que añadí una chaqueta de punto al vestido de manga corta y luego la chaqueta vaquera e incluso un chal de lana. Totalmente primaveral, llevando sandalias y un chal de lana a la vez.

Earrings by Silvereira (artisan bijouterie), years old. And I've changed my usual cork bags for my straw bag, that means Summer is coming finally!
