repeat, please

As I've told you before, I usually wear my clothes more than once in a row (no guilt, no shame). Actually, once I've created a favourite outfit, I wear it as many times as possible. I prefer to enjoy and wear what I already have, instead of investing all my energy in the search of new things. Don't get me wrong, I love rummaging and purchasing second hand clothes, love revamping them, and love all the mixing and matching different clothes. But I also feel that the clothes in my wardrobe deserve more airing, they deserve to go out to play!.
So I wore this ensemble and then wore same jacket with another skirt next day. Easy-peasy!. The one and only new thing are my shoes, and they were locally made and purchased at a local retailer (a small outlet store), which is ok for me. I wanted another pair of waterproof shoes as I have only a pair of black boots and my blue DrMartens (and nowadays I can't walk a lot in any of them: fussy feet!).
Linking Visible Monday and wishing you a visible monday and a slow fashion year!

rainy weekend

We have had a busy weekend, as we met Mr.A.'s parents and his brother's family for Saturday lunch, at a typical restaurant in Burgos, a nearby city (an hour's distance by car). We were celebrating Mr.A's father's 80th birthday and it was decided that it was a great occasion to go to Burgos and eat roast lamb (a local specialty!).(See touristic info here and here).
We didn't have time to visit the famous Cathedral, but we could have a walk and take some pics, even if it was raining cats and dogs. Not the best time of the year to visit this place but we enjoyed our short excursion anyway (and food!, even if it's not suitable for vegetarians, sorry!).

massive flower & rain

We're having typically wintery weather, which means below zero at night and below 5ºC during the day (32º to 42ºF). At least we've not been affected by recent storms (including snowstorms) that have hitted the East of Spain. We only have to deal with a relatively normal amount of rain (and sleet) and it is something to be grateful for, as drought is becoming a problem every summer. Everybody looks increasingly interested in weather talk!.
This is what I've worn to go to work today. I think it's becoming my 'rainy day outfit'. It's no wonder, it ticks all the boxes: it's comfortable, waterproof and not totally boring, due to the massive flower skirt. All we need an extra dose of colourfulness in these rainy days (and an umbrella!)
Linking Visible Monday and wishing you a visible week and a slow fashion season.

purplelized

This is what I wore on Friday morning to go to my doctor for a last check up before going to work (I sprained my ankle last week). I can walk and do my business as usual, but I've been recommended not to do extreme hiking nor wear heels for some weeks, something really appropriate as I never wear heels and have never felt any urge to climb mountains. I've taken it with some humour and actually I feel relieved that it has been a slight sprain.

- pullover, old and revamped some time ago (it was shortened and dyed in purple) / jersey de punto, antiguo y reformado hace tiempo (lo acorté y lo teñí de morado)

This is how I've looked most of the time last week, not very glamourous but totally my Real Life. You can have another look at my bedroom here and home decoration on April2019.

And I had never published pics of our guests room, which I have used recently as a background. I painted it in purple, also painted the bedside tables (see here) and sewed the curtains and cushions, so everything was made on a budget. Below are some pictures I sent to a friend who was coming to visit us, to tell him that his room was ready!.

Have a nice weekend!

purple & layering

This weekend was quieter than expected, as I've been resting at home after twisting my ankle (once more!). So no walks nor running errands for me. However I had to go to the doctor and I decided to wear trousers to make things easier at medical consultation but also because I'd planned to wear some purple trousers. After showing my ankles (doesn't it sound cheeky old fashioned?) and dealing with usual red tape, I've had to rest for a couple of days and then visit my physiotherapist. But I still can walk and have no pain, which is good news!
Anyway, this is what I wore to go to the doctor and stuff. It was 3ºC (32ºF), so my shearling coat was a must. I had picked some printed shirts to wear them layered, short over long sleeves, and went for something quite matchy. I've realized that it would be good to spend more time shopping my wardrobe, as it provides plenty of opportunities to play with!.
Linking Visible Monday and wishing you a visible week and a slow fashion year.

I also tried on this short sleeved cardi / También probé con una chaqueta de manga corta.

Same floral shirt was worn previously here on Nov2019. I've decided that it would be more wearable (with skirts) if I shorten and fit it (projects pile up!). This kind of small changes can make a difference, so I usually take them in account when shopping second hand clothes. It's another major lesson learnt!.

purple & mood

Whatever the reason (weather, post-holiday blues) I've felt really uninspired this week, but also determined to improve my mood, so I've taken on the challenge of wearing some neglected clothes. I've picked some plum/violet color clothes that have felt into the 'orphans' box and tried to look for some new partners for them. Having recently purchased some purple clothes that tickled my fancy, and thinking that purple and violet shades can work together, I decided to match my new items with old ones and create some new combos. This vintage maxi skirt has been my first victim, so I wore it in different ways, some of them not completely successful, but it has been quite useful to decide which clothes I would keep (and which ones go out).

I'm not keeping the striped turtleneck nor the scarf. Also thinking that the green printed tunic would suit better my friend M. On the contrary, this recently purchased paisley shirt (below) is absolutely what I need in my wardrobe.

-------------------
Same skirt was worn on Jan2017 also on Apr2018 and on Feb2014 (and more times, but I've picked only a few ones!)

new year & walk

After some foggy and freezy days, we had some brief sunny moments in the morning of New Year's Day and temperatures raised to 2ºC (33ºF) so we went for a walk. Obviously, we had not gone out on New Year's Eve and had only a glass (or two) of champagne after the twelve strokes of midnight and twelve good-luck grapes (a spanish tradition). Not a huge fan of massive celebrations.
Actually, going for a walk on a chilly morning could not be everybody's cup of tea, but we enjoyed it particularly because of those sparse rays of sunshine. We've been back to freezing temperatures since then, below zero every night and 1-2ºC during the day.
I have planted some flowers in my balcony pots to cheer up winter days and hope they keep looking so colorful!

(Everything was bought retail years ago, shopping my own wardrobe)

There's still a last event in Christmas season here in Spain, as the Three Kings feasts and cavalcades happen on 5th of January and we have a holiday bank on 6th of January. It's a traditional festivity which involves presents and a special cake. Not so many years ago this was the one and only time for the presents were received/swapped, but nowadays people celebrate both festivities, Christmas Eve and Three Kings' Night, with presents and stuff. The world looks more and more the same everywhere.
Even if we don't do presents, I enjoy the atmosphere (and cake!) of this holiday.

We asked dad to take a picture of us (mom and me) and he did it quite well, considering he is not used to the camera. Our smiles were literally frozen!.

Tenemos sonrisas congeladas, literalmente.
