summer & autumn

I've been inspired by fabulous Melanie (and by the overwhelming heat) to wear this dress which I own many years ago. It was damn hot when I took these pics, 37ºC (100ºF). I've been also inspired to use the garage alley to take my pics, as it's very shady (literally, no shady business out there!).
This dress has a fab print, but the background color is some kind of beige/almond which is pretty unflattering on me, it makes me look washed!, so I always pick colorful accessories to cheer up the ensemble. This time I also worn some red lipstick, big sunnies and a straw hat, to keep me cool!

Weather has changed dramatically this week, from 37ºC to 22ºC, so some layering was needed once more. I picked my orange trench, but it was windy and some other warm jacket would be better. Anyway, I worn this necklace that Mr.A. bought me for my birthday!, a fabulous present!

blue sandals & massive bracelets

Sales have been advantageous to me!. I've bought two pairs of sandals, both of them at a heavy discount!. And both of them were made in Spain, which is something to take into account. I've worn my comfy silver sandals almost every day, but these blue ones are taking their time to break in, and my fussy feet need some rest after wearing them. However, I still love them.
I've always saved my money to buy some quality shoes, I think it's the best investment you can make, as shoes last for years if they're well made. So investing in a good pair of shoes that you really love, well, that doesn't look like a frivolous purchase for me.
I've become a reluctant customer, except for shoe shops!. I keep on window shopping and visiting some local designers and retailers, and sometimes I buy a piece or two that would enhance my wardrobe, but my first sources of clothes are second hand flea markets or charities and swaps. I've also been revamping some old clothes, sewing and doing other crafty activities, as you can see. Papier maché is one of the cheaper and more versatile materials you can work with and I've used it to make some massive bracelets. It has been a long time since I made and painted something from scrap, so my skills were a little bit rusty, but I enjoyed it and then I realized how much I've missed it!
Have a fabulous and Visible Monday and, please, send some support to Patti!

Last night I went to a fantastic event at the Würth Museum with some friends, it was an open night with music, food trucks and a special exhibition of op art and kinetic art, which we loved!. All the pictures were taken by my friend Marian,(and they were taken before we had any drink, believe it or not!)
I'm not a huge fan of this kind of posh events, but we had fun and enjoyed some 30's art pieces, really interesting!. The music was not my cup of tea, nor my friend's. We hope that the music would be better next time!

khaki & neutrals

So-called neutral colors are not my first choice, nor my favorite ones. I dislike beige or brown, and earthy tones are not my cup of tea. However I like khaki and some other shades of green, because of their versatility to mix with red, orange or purple. That's my kind of neutral color, a color which enhances a bold color!. So when my mom gave me this bag as a present for my birthday, I liked its shape and size, but I had to think about how to wear a so neutral color. Then, I say to myself 'let's pretend it's a khaki-bronze bag and let's play with it'. I think that it's working!
Do you play with colors this way too?
