Back To Reality

I'm out of practice at blogging, but still working on it and this could be a new year's resolution if I believed in them. We have had a whole festive week here in Spain, as Christmas is over on 6th January (Epiphany or Three King's Day), but I was back to work last Tuesday and not feeling particularly well. When I was recovering from gastroenteritis, I got a cold (lots of people have got it too, but this is not making me feel better). Totally the kind of thing you got when you have some social life these days and we have had it indeed. It's a cliché but I need a holiday to recover from my last holiday.

I went for a 'repeat offender' last week, so I wore this same dress and coat twice in a row. That polyester dress was a second hand purchase at eBay years ago. Lime green jacket was recently acquired at Sunday street market (second hand). Scarf was retail shopped last winter. New boots by NorthFace were retail shopped too. Usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal. Coat was shopped retail years ago.

There's No Reason to not wearing colours in the winter, particularly when you need a mood booster. They make winter clothes in bold colours too, as that fleece jacket which was acquired at CandA years ago (I own a fleece, don't judge me!). New boots were shopped retail. That bag came from an artisan workshop.

I was tempted by the sirens' song of second hand apps, and shopped that dress at Vinted. It's a viscose dress, perfect for layering and also perfect for our long summer, so a quite reasonable purchase (that's what I say to myself!). Anyway, it's too short for shoes so totally a boots-or-sandals kind of dress. I'm not particularly tall (5'7"), but sometimes maxi dresses become 'midi' on me, which annoys me (bah, first world problems!). Puffer jacket was shopped retail some weeks ago. Shoes by Camper. Usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal.

Last week was quiet at work, and still quite festive as everybody was getting ready for Three King's Night, which is the night when presents are delivered by their majesties, The Three Magi/Kings, after a massive Cavalcade through the city centre. You can imagine we've kept ourselves away from all that frenzy. No presents, and we would not be caught dead attending a crowded parade. But I still love the special cake for Three King's Day (actually, we ate it for breakfast the day before!).
Have a fabulous week, whatever the weather! (this is a view from my window!)

  1. I'm totally getting you for needing another holiday to recover from your holiday :-) I'm sorry you got a cold on top of your gastroenteritis. I know it'll not make you feel better, but I got one during the holidays too.
Loving the repeat offender dress, particularly with that lime green jacket, and how fabulous is that dress you shopped on Vinted. Purple and orange are totally your colours! I usually have the opposite problem that midi dresses are maxi ones on me :-)
I'm loving the sight of that cake and how stunning is that view from your window! xxx

I'm sorry you've been plagued by the lurgy recently, I think you need another holiday.
I loved both your fabulously colourful dresses and you're far better than me with your repeat offending, I wear the same accessories, coats and everything! I'd make a terrible fashion blogger! xxx

  3. That is an amazing view! I love your new to you Vinted dress and the new lime green jacket find. All the outfits were bold and colourful and you look lovely in them all. Fleeces are practical and I, too, own one. I wear it when I'm walking in the winter; it was a charity shop find - naturally. Hope you feel better soon and the 3 Kings cake looked delicious!

  6. Oh, what a great view! I hope you've fully recovered from your ilness now; it can take a while for a virus to go away properly, and getting two in a row was unfortunate.
