polka dots & tweed

Weather was unseasonably warm last week when these pictures were taken, but not anymore. It has been raining for days and it's chilly now!
However I've preferred to share this outfit rather than more current ones, because I couldn't take decent pictures of anything out of the raincoat and umbrella ensemble. Real Life!
I'm used to wear lighter layers as the day warm up and I decided to show you this unlayering (and my tweed jacket, once more!). This polka dot dress has been in my wardrobe for ages as it's really versatile even if a little bit classic for my taste. I've worn it with this same blue cardi such a lot of times that it has become an 'uniform'. Then added a jacket for warmth, inspired by Polyester Princess and Goody at Eat The Blog who rock their tweeds!
Actually, I believe that having this kind of 'uniforms' makes my life easier in the morning when I have to dress up in a rush!

  1. Well if that's a 'uniform' I want to wear it too! It's a fabulous outfit; so interesting to the eye with the variety of textures and patterns but all in the same tonal range. I love your tweed jacket and those blue shoes are gorgeous.

I love, love, love the blue necklace.

    Stay warm!

  2. Our weather has suddenly got quite cold as well. What a difference with last week! And I haven't photographed any outfits this week either ... It's just not much fun doing outfit photos in the rain, or inside, where the light isn't flattering! Total love for your outfit. I love all the blues going on, and they really suit you son well. Love the polka dot dress, which doesn't look classic at all the way you are wearing it. That necklace is fabulous. And of course, the Tweed jacket! I just knew you were going to wear it lots and lots! Thanks for the shout out, by the way, you are too kind! Besos xxx

  3. Love the mixture of textures.

Our temps have dropped to bone chilling cold, it was -17 yesterday! Ugh! This is NOT normal for this time of year. I'm hoping we get back to normal temps which should be around 5.

It's been really cole here - gloves and scarf weather almost overnight. I haven't blooged all week as it's just been too dark for any decent outfit photos. xxx

  5. How beautiful is your outfit! Adore the tone on tone effect. We had snow and now freezing cold. 13 degrees F. tonight and it has dropped to 54F inside in my bedroom. I might sleep in the kitchen tonight to keep warm! Have a great week.

  6. Oh, I love these soft blue colours. Lovely! I agree, being able to throw on an extra jacket is really a bonus for controlling temperatures. It's suddenly cold here too!

  7. I love this outfit, Monica! It's good to have a formula that pleases us - very useful when we are in a hurry. In a way, all outfits follow a certain formula, but of course someone like you make them look fun and energized, and not boing, but really creative! It's a lovely dress, and I am a fan of your tweed jacket! Lots of love!
