blue dress & storks

I'm still revamping and adjusting some of the clothes I bought at a charity market on March, but my projects pile has not decreased as I've kept on buying second hand clothes and visiting charity shops (winning streak or thrifting addiction?). My first project was to sew some scarves to create a skirt and a kimono (here). My next project has been to make wearable this dress which I bought (despite being too small) because of its print and light viscose fabric. My plan was cutting it out to make a skirt, but changed my mind, as it has a wide belt which provided fabric enough to work. So I've added some side pannels and voilá, a plus size dress has been born!
I recommend to give a try to any maxi dress when trifting, even if it doesn't fit properly, it can be revamped!. I have two more maxi dresses in my pile, actually!
Linking Visible Monday and hoping you're enjoying a visible week!

- dress, Hoss Intropia (second hand, charity market) / vestido, segunda mano, mercadillo solidario
- sneakers, Nike outlet / zapatillas

- sarong as a scarf (old) / pareo a modo de pañuelo

These are some storks on the (recently fixed) roof of the Science Museum, a 1911 building. There are many other nests on the trees nearby the river and storks can be seen gathering sticks or flying around. It's an amazing view!

  6. That dress is amazing, I love the print!! I always tell people to buy maxi dresses if the print is fabulous and they're a good price, there's so much fabric in them that there's always something you can do to make them into something wearable, even if it's to cut it up and make a sarong!
How exciting to see storks! i love the Science building, too. xxx

  7. Great print on that Maxi dress, and excellent re-working to make it fit. I just bought a maxi dress at a thrift store for $10 on Friday because I love the print and I'm debating about removing the top so it's a maxi skirt. I've never seen storks "in the wild" before so thanks for sharing the photos.
