maxi skirt & sleeveless

Back in the garage alley, I've taken photos of my last outfits for hot days. I try to keep myself cool (pun intended), so I'm used to wear light fabrics and keep the layering for accessories. Not a huge fan of sleeveless tops but these ones protect my neck and shoulders from the sun so they're nice for me (I even bought exact same top in two colors!). For sure I'm not suddenly concerned about modesty or age appropriate dressing and I'll keep on wearing sleeveless or low neckline tops as long as I wear sun block! (playing safe!)

- sleeveless top, Festa (old) / blusa sin mangas
- silver sandals, Wonders (last summer) / sandalias plateadas, del verano pasado
- bag, Etsy / bolso
- purple scarf, retail / pañuelo morado, detall
- necklace, Dayaday (old) / collar

I'm glad to wear this floral maxi which is so comfy and flowy!. I made it of a strapless dress bought at a charity market, only had to cut it and add a waist, a single pass of the sewing machine. Previously, I wore it for the first time in a winter outfit.

  1. You are so good with your hands! That starfish hairpin is such fun, did you do those on the bag too? I love your rings too - great colours! It's funny how a long skirt or dress can feel cooler than a short one - way is that? You look so stylish in the longer length, with cute sandals to go with them. Who needs anything but a shady garage alley when you're doing your photo shoot in it? That's all the decoration it's ever going to need!

  2. I *wish* I could quickly sew up a skirt from a dress with a single pass. Not quite there for the sewing skills I'm afraid.

You have so many great accessories. I'd love to see how you store your jewellery collection.

  4. I'm not surprised you own this beautiful top in more than one colour because it suits you perfectly and I love both of the styles you show here with these tops! And how cool that the maxi skirt was a dress in the past - you changed this dress in a great way to a skirt! Happy new week!

  5. It's very hard to find clothes that keep you cool in this hot weather. I love your green and purple outfit - my two favourite colours! That top is very versatile and looks beautiful in both colours. You could also wear it under long sleeved warmer tops like cardigans or jackets so it seems like a very clever idea to buy it more than one colour.

I love the maxi dress converted to a skirt and the sandals are gorgeous. You always have such fabulous bags...

    Stay cool!

  6. Wonderful bold colours Monica! I especially like the combo of purple and green. The shape of that top is very flattering and it looks to be very comfortable in hot weather. It has been so hot here lately that I've given up all attempts at modesty and am wearing as little as possible, along with lots of sunblock.
