foggy & plaid

The weather keeps being a trendy topic of conversation. After the rain and floods, here comes the freezing fog, so typical for this time of year. We have had some foggy days and it will continue for several more days, which means that temperatures have plummeted. We're below zero now and the maximum expected is 5ºC (30ºF-40ºF), not incredibly cold but quite a nuisance as humidity is high too. It's time for some 'Real Winter Weather' clothes, including the warmer coats, wool tights, cord trousers and thick dresses. I don't own a lot of these things (our climate is quite warm), but keep some stuff 'just in case'. Being sensible here!

This plaid dress was purchased years ago, probably around Dic2013. I've worn it lots of times through the last eight years, but not so much recently. So I'm recovering it from the bottom of my wardrobe. Once again, I went shopping at my own wardrobe.
Same dress was previously worn on Feb2019, Dic2015, Dic2014, Jan2014

  1. The plaid dress is one of those pieces you keep forever in your closet (and you obviously have). It has a classic shape and you have the perfect tights and shoes to coordinate with it. We had a couple of mild (14 degrees), very windy days last weekend, today it snowed. The temperatures are up and down and I wish it would just get cold and stay cold, at least I would know what to wear!

The weather is becoming a favourite conversation topic, I'd like some kind of 'normal' weather.

  2. The weather's always a trendy topic of conversation in our climates, isn't it? So far, we've had lots of rain and some fog, and frost seems to be on its way!
The plaid dress is delightful, worn both with black and red opaques. Such a wonderful dress for this time of year, too, and one that will never go out of fashion, if you care for such things :-) The sparkly cardigan is delightful too and it's always a pleasure to see your shearling coat! Love that last, foggy town, photo! Besos xxx

  3. We've had the fog but luckily for us not the freezing variety! Your photo is wonderfully atmospheric.
The tartan dress is lovely especially with the glittery edging of your cocktail top peeking out from your coat! xxx

    1. Since I purchased this piece, I have to restrain myself from wearing sequins everyday! ;DD
These foggy days are totally atmospheric, but make most people feel moody and sad (and Cold!)

  4. Freezing fog is such a nuisance, especially if you have to drive in it.

  5. That foggy shot is so magical! Wow!

I love your plaid dress (I am a sucker for anything plaid, as I think you know) and your warm accessories, Monica! Our temps and climate are similar here - it's been between 2 and 8 degrees for the past week, and we're humid from being on the ocean.

    1. I'm making the most of this fog, taking interesting photos (I think this is the one and only interesting thing about it!!)
Glad you love plaid too!, totally a classic and it can be styled in many different ways and colours and stuff!. Plaid-titude!
Sorry that you're having some dull and humid weather too, we're far away from the ocean, but the river works its magic too!

  6. That is such a good dress - both cosy and colourful. The embellished jacket is very festive too.
