Orange & Autumn

The unseasonable sunny weather is coming to an end: now we have a snow forecast, even if it will probably fall only on the nearby mountains (as usual!). We have had a gloriously warm October, so not that bad.
I'm keeping my style colourful and wearing orange, whatever the season. The only difference is that now I'm pulling my boots out of the depths of my wardrobe and keeping them on hand!. My coats are kept in the same cabinet the whole year, so I don't need to switch them between the seasons. I just took care of them and washed some pieces (including scarves and hats) in the summer. I don't really feel like wearing coats, but it's better to be well equipped and ready to go when needed. Being sensible here.

- dress, CandA (new!) / vestido
- tights, Snag (Pumpkin Spice) / medias Snag
- maryjanes, Allrounders outlet (old) / merceditas
- coat, Seasalt (last winter sales) / abrigo, rebajas del invierno pasado
- cork bag, Fine Cork Portugal / bolso de corcho
- earrings, retail (new!) / pendientes de una tienda local
As previously promised, I've taken photos of this blouse by Zara after being shortened and fitted (not a really dramatic change, as it's a boxy blouse). But these are easy fixes that make a difference, so totally recommend to keep them in mind when shopping second hand clothes.

- wrap-around skirt made of a sofa cover (and then dyed orange) / falda pañal, hecha de un cubresofá (y luego teñida de naranja)
- orange-red cardi (second hand), street market / chaquetita punto de segunda mano, mercadillo
- boots, Clarks (old) / botitas
- necklace, a present (old) / collar, un regalo, de hace tiempo
----------
- puff coat-jacket, retail (years ago) / abrigo acolchado negro, de tienda local (hace años)
- striped trousers, clearance sale (old) / pantalón de rayas, de liquidación-outlet
- sneakers, Reebok outlet (old) / zapatillas
- bag, Emily The Strange (old) / bolso
Hope you're having a fab week!
¡Espero que estéis teniendo una buena semana!

  1. Yes to orange, and not just in Autumn! And yes to the shortened Zara blouse. It's looking so much better, and I'm loving it worn both with the sofa-cover skirt and the striped trousers. Your C&A dress is looking a treat too with those pumpkin spice opaques. Isn't that a wonderful name? It is definitely coat season now, but I don't mind wearing coats, to be honest. As for the forecasted snow, I do hope it stays in those mountains for the time being :-) Besos xxx

  2. orange is PERFECT on you!!!
and the more the better! looking at you warms my heart and fun fact: at the moment you would blend in in our backdrop of autumnal coloured beech & oak trees :-D
well done with the cute blouse - i always check "not right" fitting 2.hand clothes if i could do some sewing with them - if the fabric quality is right of cause..... altered many skirts waistbands, all kind of lenghts or wides. but in the end it made for favorite pieces mostly.
we had the first snow yesterday on mountains over 1000m - winter is on its way!
    stay warm and cosy! xxxx

    1. Dear Beate, I'd love to blend in the autumnal coloured backdrop of your beautiful landscape!
Totally agree about the 'not right' fitting, and there are also some minor adjustments or repairs that can be easily fixed. Mixed feeling about this, as we make the most of these pieces, but it's stupid when people discard clothes only because missing a button or zip.
There's also snow forecasted on the mountains over 1200m (which is whatever mountain around us!)

  3. Brrr! It must be getting cold if snow is looking likely. I hope you're able to stay nice and cosy - best to have those coats so you can get them when you need them.

  4. The blouse is lovely and adds a nice pop of colour to the last outfit. We had a nice October here too, warmer than usual, but now the leaves have almost all left the trees, and we had a dusting of snow one morning this week, so Winter is on it's way. I do like dressing for the colder weather though - I'm a fan of layering!
