Jazzing Up & Mondays

I wore my jazzed up dress with this new coat to cheer up my Monday, and totally worked. When I feel uninspired and tempted by the idea of dressing down, I grab any comfy & cool dress, so I can deal with a dull day appropriately (and comfortably). Feeling inspired by Sheila!. I also consider that saving my clothes 'for good' is a total waste of resources. Everyday is good enough to wear your favourite clothes. I think that most of you will agree!

Well, I won't lie to you, this is a New Coat and I paid full price for it (eyewatering expensive as it was). It was purchased in a local store, even it is (really) made in Italy, and it was love at first sight. Hoping it will be a long term investment.
Actually, I felt guilty for a minute or two, then said to myself that I deserve quality things, and totally refused to feel guilt. This is totally contrary to the way I was grown up! (still working on keeping the perfectionism and guilt killjoys away!)

no need to feel guilty here! if i had the chance i would buy high quality garments brand new - but our local stores are all dedicated to poor made sweatshop wares - even the more expensive ones.....
    love your monday suit!!
i have to admit: some of my clothes will never see the light of a common day. they are to delicate and even i would feel overdressed in them :-D and: if i wear them every day - what would be the special when get dressed for special occasions??......

    1. Totally understand that you save your delicate and special clothes for occasions!, I also keep some fancy dresses even if I rarely wear them!. However, it makes me feel sad that so many people are usually dressed down everyday, looking and feeling uninteresting, when they own lovely clothes that languish in their wardrobes. I think you look lovely in your comfy wool skirts and jackets, totally love a comfy&cool style.

  2. That coat is an absolute stunner, Monica, and yes, you definitely deserved it. No need to feel guilty at all, especially if it is superb quality and thus an investment piece! Just think of all the Mondays - and other days, of course - it will brighten up. Sheila is right, a comfy but cool dress does make getting dressed a doddle, even if one feels a tiny bit uninspired. I wear the vast majority of my clothes on any given day, although I do have the odd dress I'm keeping for special occasions! Besos xxx

I'm always trying to wear all my clothes as many times as possible, even if I still keep some special stuff only for occasions. Making the most of my wardrobe too!

  6. My jaw dropped when I saw that SKULL on the dress - wow! What an amazing "jazz up" that is! I love the polka-dot coat, and sometimes we need to pay retail/full price for something we love (I just bought a McQueen skull scarf for $125, so I'm hearing you on "I wasn't brought up this way"). We do deserve to have quality things we love.

Thank you so much for the shout-out, my dear friend. I'm sorry that I haven't been around much - real life is now encroaching on my blog-time, and I'm requiring a lot more mental health self-care.
