autumn walks

We've gone out for some excursions last week, making the most of some sunny days. I won't lie to you, it is not warm, snowy mountains can be seen in the distance and we have that distinctive chilly northern breeze, but I'm all right with that. I can even deal with rainy days, but they're not my cup of tea during excursions, nor walks on muddy paths!.

We've also visited the famous monastery of San Millán, where some of the first words in Spanish were written (as notes to latin documents which people didn't understand yet: glosas emilianenses). We only took the visit to the original monastery, built up in the mountain in the 6th century (even if some parts were added until the 12th century). We had to left the visit to the lower and 'more modern' monastery for another occasion.
Have a fabulous week!

  2. That shearling coat is just perfect to combat those Northern breezes! Your C&A dress has been a wise investment, hasn't it? It's a gorgeous all-seasons one too. The vintage 80s dress of your second outfit is a stunner too, and I love how you paired it with those sea-green opaques.
I'm quite envious of your excursion to the monastery of San Millán. What an atmospheric place and such a stunning setting too. Those snowy mountains in the background look amazing! Besos xxx

  6. Brrr! It must be so cold up on those mountains - and cold when the wind blows down them to where you are.

It must be amazing to be where the first words of Spanish were written - is the monastery Visigothic?

    1. It is Visigothic and Mozarabic and a little bit romanesque too, layers of art and life in a small building!
