foggy days

We've had some cloudy, foggy and wet days, really unpleasant even if it was not really cold. It's the kind of weather to stay at home and crochet something while watching detective murder misteries (or whatever that tickles your fancy!).
Actually, I've visited my local knitting shop and bought some balls of wool on offer. I've also run some other errands which is something that rarely do these days. I've always enjoyed a visit to my favourite haberdashery or ironmongery, but now it feels like a major event. And it also feels like a social occasion, as most people is looking forward some (distanced) small talk. Not a problem for me, I'm pretty talkative if required, despite my introverted personality. I think it's important to keep on supporting local retailers and make them feel better if possible.
After having a look at my wardrobe, I feel like wearing light dresses and skirts before the weather becomes really cold. It's also a total mood booster and makes me feel put together and fancy (even if it's actually as comfy as wearing pyjamas).

  1. Love all the color in your outfit! The shades in your dress or so rich. I’m with you - dresses are the most comfortable item of clothing to wear.

  3. That sounds like what I might be doing today, crochet and TV, it's horrible out there!
Loving the raspberry coat, it looks wonderful with the teals and purples in your dress and the tights are fantastic.
I know what you mean, a trip to the shops feels like a real adventure these days, even walking around the block I stop and talk to strangers for ages. It's taken a pandemic to become a community!
    Stay safe and cosy! xxx

    1. Mwhaha, I've read it at your blog and put a smile on my face. Great Minds are crocheting and watching tv these days!
Glad you like these colours!, lots of them!
Totally agree that stoping to chat with random people is becoming something normal and even necessary. I believe that we need to keep in touch with people around us.

    1. So lovely that you like these colours!. This coat is one of my favourite ones ever, even if I don't wear it frequently as it's not very practical. But it's a cool colour!
Colourful opaques make a difference, aren't they?

  6. I really like the outfits in shades of blue ... But I also admired the beautiful architecture that is the background to your photos! I love the historic buildings, the sculptures-chisels on the stones ... Wow !! Have a good week!

    1. Thank you, I like this building particularly, it's an old palace that was transformed into a Museum. And the visit is free!

  7. You are so right: even a visit to the haberdashery shop or DIY store feels like a major event, and what's more, I always feel guilty just browsing for fun, instead of just grabbing what I need and go!
I'm loving that vintage dress you're wearing here, Monica, and it definitely makes sense to wear some lighter dresses and skirts before the cold weather hits us! That raspberry wool coat is an absolute beauty too. And how lovely to see all your rainbow of opaques! Opaques and berets or woolly hats make the colder season so much more bearable, don't they? 1. Mwhaha, I also feel guilty if I stay in a shop longer than necessary. But it would be rude not to chat!.
We have to make the most of lighter dresses, dear Anne. Winter is long enough!
Totally agree about opaques and berets, having a rainbow of them makes a difference!

  8. Your coats look deliciously snuggly and warm, and are such great colours! I'm also impressed with your tights organization (I'm too lazy to roll them so nicely!).

I also like to linger and chat in shops - I feel like the staff/owners aren't seeing as many people, and it's like the ones they do see are cranky. It helps!

  9. I like your colourful tight collection! I have ventured into a few small, owner-run shops to try to support as many local businesses as I can, and I really enjoy having a masked-up chat with the owners as several days can go by without seeing another person (the advantage, and disadvantage, of living alone). Now that the weather is cold and most often wet, outdoor socializing isn't happening.

  10. Knitting is always fun! What are you making?

Like you I like to support local shops. They're more likely to support other local businesses and pay their taxes.
