Long Story Long

Last weeks have been totally a rollercoaster, ups and downs and money flying out our pockets. Finally we have a new car and we even gave her a drive test (to the supermarket!, so wild!) and also gave her a pun name (untranslatable, sorry!). So now we're motorised functioning adults, which means not only that our mundane tasks are easier but also that excursions are available again. As we had our first car not so much time ago, it's not that we couldn't adapt ourselves to live without a car, but obviously we got used to it: lots of places are only accessible by car and it has became essential in our daily life.

But let's talk on clothes!. Lots of new things to show (most of them are just new-to-me). I finished that crochet cardi by adding pockets, but not sure if I like them so much now. I was sold on those pockets, they're the reason I started to crochet that cardi. And now I'm not happy with them because they add bulk just in my middle part (which is nor practical nor flattering). I'll keep them for a while and we'll see (as they'd be easy to remove).

Crochet pattern by Katie Jones' Kahlo collection. Second hand dress by eBay (years ago). Trench coat by Seasalt (old). Scarf from an artisan market. Adidas sneakers. Usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal.
Orange is the new orange!. That puffer jacket was acquired new at a local retailer two weeks ago and I've worn it a lot of times, as it's comfy and perfect for our not-so-cold winter. Actually, we're still having an autumnal weather, so I can wear some summery skirts like that african wax printed one (sewed by me) and a black shirt (second hand). Purple scarf was shopped retail, tights by Snag, Adidas sneakers (old) and usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal.
Lots of colourful skirts!. That 80's vintage one was acquired at Sunday street market some time ago, I have a weakness for 80's prints!. Short sleeved yellow cardi from eBay (ages ago) and a black turtleneck by LaRedoute. Booties by NorthFace (new) which I shopped for my walks (but too cool to keep them only for them!).

I had planned to wear that new-to-me pullover-tunic as a dress but resulted too short, so wore it over a miniskirt and striped tights (both by Snag). Crochet scarf and beret, bird brooch made by a local artist. However it's not the most interesting outfit ever, a little bit dissapointing.

That's another new-to-me dress, which came from a second hand stall at Sunday street market. Its colour was not my cup of tea so I dyed it in red, and obtained a pink-raspberry shade. Not bad. Red dye can be really tricky!. I wore it with a short sleeved cardi by LaRedoute (that I own decades ago) and a black turtleneck. I've dusted off my turtlenecks collection, it means that winter is coming!

That's a picture I took of the dress before dying it, its colour looked like coffee or nicotine stains. Obviously I didn't notice its colour when I shopped it; it was a really sunny day and thought it was solid off white. Lesson learned: sunnies off and watch the real colour.
Orange galore!. I've been wearing that puffer jacket a lot, it matches many of my skirts!. Massive flower skirt on black has a twin colourful sister, both came from Sunday street market (second hand). Same as black t-shirt and orange cardi. Tights by Snag. Shoes by Camper. Necklace was a present, years ago.

Naranja a montones!. Zapatos Camper. Collar, un regalo hace años.
Another second hand dress that needed a small adjustment, I just raised its waist and it made a difference. Tights by Snag, shoes by Camper, necklace by Ciclón. New scarf recently acquired at an artisan fair (pure and lightweight wool!).

Have a fab week!

  2. Congratulations on the new car, and what fun that you have given it a nickname :-) Ours is called Corrie, short for Corona, as we were able to get her for a much reduced price after shops re-opened after Lockdown :-)
As always, it's been a joy to see your colourful outfits. Your newly finished crochet cardi is fabulous, although I do hear you on the bulky pockets. And well done for dyeing that dress. It looks a hundred times better in raspberry, and so much more you! That final outfit is my favourite. So much bright colour I actually needed sunglasses :-) Besos xxx

  3. Happy new car! Ours always have names, too - they are part of the family after all!
That dress dyed really well and the raspberry shade is much more you now. I see what you mean about the pockets on that cardi but it's still an absolute work of art and, as you say, an easy fix. xxx

  4. Yay - new car and now you're fully mobile again. Lovely outfits and such fab colour combinations. I really liked how the raspberry dyed dress turned out; it's a lovely colour on you. I liked the pockets on your beautiful crochet cardigan but think it looks better when you leave the cardigan open rather closed, then the attention is not drawn to your mid-section. Loved the little bird brooch you bought recently - so cute!
