march is the cruelest month

I'm keeping myself busy, totally business as usual, and I'm also trying to keep a (probably naive) positive attitude. March is my less favourite month of the year, but I'm managing it better and better. I've made plans with friends to attend some vintage fairs and charity markets, which are coming up again, and I've been also focused on some slow fashion projects. Also reading a book by Jenny Odell, "How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy", which is totally appropriate these days.

- red coat, La Redoute (old) / abrigo rojo
- shawl, retail (old) / chal, tienda local
- black cardi, PuntRoma (old) / chaquetita punto
- plaid dress, sewed by me (Nov2018)/ vestido de cuadros, costura propia (de Nov2018)
- tights, Snag / medias
- sneakers, Adidas outlet / zapatillas
- bag, Emily The Strange (old) / bolso
- pendant, Ciclón (old) / colgante
- striped dress, second hand (eBay) years ago / vestido de rayas, de hace años (segunda mano en eBay)
- yellow cardi, La Redoute (old) / chaqueta punto amarilla
- coat, clearance sale (old) / abrigo, de una liquidación-outlet
- tigths, Snag / medias
- shoes, Camper / zapatos
- cork bag, Fine Cork Portugal (old) / bolso de corcho
These are my last second hand purchases at the street market, both quite unexpected. The cord jacket printed in a kitschy paisley is something I'm still deciding if I would wear outdoors or wear it as a smoking jacket at home. I've also acquired a pair of jeans, and they're a boyfriend cut and low waist, which are both styles I've never liked. But had them for 2€, new with labels still attached!, so I'll give them a try and Time will tell!.
Actually, I'm going to take a break from shopping, even second hand, and focus on the things I already own. Eventually, I'll break my own rules if I find something extraordinary fabulous!.

Hope you're keeping yourselves (and others) safe!. See you soon!

Por favor, cuidáos mucho. ¡Nos vemos pronto!

  1. Like you, I'm keeping myself busy and I'm trying to keep a positive attitude. I don't care if it's considered naive, it's a way of survival, and we cannot change a thing by being anxious.
I'm loving your cheerful outfits, in particular the first one with that cute handmade plaid dress.
That cord jacket is gorgeous, and I hope we get to see you wearing it outside. That said, I've recently bought a pair of trousers which, although quite funky, I'm still deciding whether to wear out :-)
Love the Springtime blossoms and I could definitely do with a book on how to do nothing, which isn't something I'm good at - and that's a euphemism :-) Have a great Saturday evening and Sunday! Besos xxx

    1. Dear Anne, totally agree that we cannot change a thing by being anxious. I'm working on this attitude!.
Glad you like the plaid dress, and I'll give it a try to the cord jacket!
      Springtime blossoms are so cheerful!

  2. The cord jacket is fab, and I think deserves and outdoor wearing. I love your mix of red, black and plaid in the first outfits. March makes you think that Spring is coming, but then you get hit with cold temperatures and some random snow. It will soon be Spring though, so hang in there.

    1. I'll give this cord jacket a try outdoors, you're encouraging me!
March is such a treacherous month, lots of promises of spring and then some snow!. I feel disappointed at best!

  3. I love that paisely jacket, what a tremendous find. Decent secondhand jeans are really hard to find, they're usually poor quality supermarket ones with the dreaded lycra here, you did well!
I love that red coat with the tartan dress and the checks and stripes in your second outfit, so cheery.
We loved seeing the blossom on the tress in Spain, you're a few weeks ahead of us! xxx

    1. Paisley is always fab (in my book!) and totally agree that jeans are usually low quality, but these ones were new, from a 'conscious' collection so 100% cotton.
The trees bloom even earlier in the south-east of Spain, I remember February being springtime when I lived in the south.

  5. These are all such great outfits. I hope the jeans work for you.
Trying to stay distracted here too. I've cleaned everything in the house with nervous energy.
    Take care.

    1. I'm a really lazy person, but keeping myself focused on mundane tasks makes me feel better. Groceries shopping and cooking are my favourite ones (Mr.A. approves too!).

  6. What wonderful colourful and very cheerful outfits! People must feel much better for having seen you in all your finery; I know I do. Red, black and white is always a winner and the navy, yellow and white outfit was so cool. Do people comment on your outfits where you work? I bet they do!

As for your secondhand finds - wow! I love the jacket; you could wear it over a dress or tunic; over trousers and over a skirt, too. I hope you get on with the jeans; boyfriend jeans are a comfortable loose fit but I don't like low rise trousers or jeans as my fat belly falls over the top of them! But as your are so clever with a needle; I'm sure you could add a piece of fabric to the waistband and make them mid or high rise which are kinder to apple shapes like me and you.

  7. Oh, look at those blossoms! Our trees are bursting into bloom here too. A little bit of cheer with the rain. I agree, March is a hard month, neither winter nor spring.

I love your tartan tunic - you and I both share the love for the punk/rock aesthetic. Great red coat. I've been shopping a lot lately, and it's time to take a break and save up my $ again. Like you, I have lots of clothes!
