Graphic & Red

This is another one of my self-sewed skirts. I tend to wear it mostly in autumn probably because it looks better with tights. And you know I love particularly red tights (own four pairs of them!).
I've always had a weakness for graphic prints, included newspaper and comic print (so 80's!), and this one is really appealing as it's a comic I read as a child/teen: Esther y su mundo (Patty's world).
The skirt was made of a sturdy fabric that would have been more suitable for cushions or decoration, but this didn't stop me! (not the first time I did it!, most of my self-sewed skirts are made of Ikea fabrics, sheets, scarves or even bedcovers). Second hand market provides plenty of materials for sewing, it's my favourite source nowadays so I'm not buying fabric anymore. Second hand first!

- houndstooth jacket, eBay (old) / chaqueta pata de gallo, eBay (hace tiempo)
- maryjanes, Clarks (old) / merceditas
- necklace, Ciclón (old) / collar
- polka dots neckerchief, vintage / pañuelito de lunares, vintage
I've worn this same skirt twice in a row, I do it frequently and challenge myself to create different outfits. Are you a 'repeat offender' or wear something completely different everyday?. Usually I navigate between these extremes, depending on my mood.

- striped t-shirt, C&A (old) / camiseta rayas
- jacket, second hand, Sunday street market (old) / chaqueta de segunda mano, del mercadillo del domingo
- sneakers, Adidas outlet (old) / zapatillas
- bag, Emily The Strange (old) / bolso
- red trench/windbreaker, C&A (old) / gabardina-cortavientos en rojo, antigüita.
Have a fabulous week!

  1. That skirt is gorgeous and lots of fun, Monica! I guess being made from a sturdier fabric means it'll be suitable for Autumn and Winter. I do own several pairs of red opaques too :-) I'm often a repeat offender, in particular in the Autumn and Winter, and more specifically where skirts are concerned. I tend to change my outfits more often, and wear a different one each day, in Spring and Summer. I'm loving both outfits, the second one, with its combinations of dots and stripes, being my favourite! Have a great week, Monica! Besos xxx

    1. I think we all become repeat offenders sometimes when skirts are concerned and the weather is particularly unappealing!
And love that you are also a red tights lover!

  2. I always love seeing you in that skirt and the red tights (Snag?) are absolutely perfect with it!
I rend to wear something different every day to justify the amount of clothing I own but loved the challenge I set myself when I repeated item of clothing every day for two months. xxx

    1. Thanks, Vix!, they're not Snag, but I also own some red tights by them!
I remember your challenge well, it was really inspiring. I also try to justify the amount of clothes I own by telling that I wear everything, ;DD

  3. That's such a fab skirt and such fun! I loved it with the black and white jacket and black top, especially. The blue jacket was also pretty cool with the striped top - the skirt goes with everything. Well done you sourcing your material second hand!

Hope you're having a great week.

  4. Both outfits are stellar stylings of this funky skirt! You are awesome at making a single piece the star of your looks. I don't repeat too often, as I am always driven to work my way through my wardrobe. I did experiment with 30 day, 30 item challenges which opened my eyes to changing up styles - those were very useful.

    1. Thanks, Sheila!, I try to challenge myself too, wearing same item in different ensembles, and found that it's good to push myself to be more creative. So many clothes and so little time!. Totally understand that the 30 day, 30 item challenge was mind blowing!

  5. I'm worse than a repeat offender, I sometimes wear *entirely the same outfit* several days running. All the bloggers I follow, yourself included, are much more stylish. That skirt is really good fun.

    1. I think that it's completely normal to wear 'entirely the same outfit', I do it!. No shame!. Sometimes it's great to have some 'uniforms' and wear them almost everyday, making our lifes easier and comfier!.
Dear Mim, thanks for your compliment!, I'd never felt particularly stylish but growing my self-confidence!
