slow lifestyle

I've been feeling a bit under the weather last weeks, not only because of working full time, but also because of all the spring stuff. I'm still feeling that my energy level is really low, so I'm treating myself to long walks, some social life and crafty projects. Actually, I've started so many projects that they spreaded out over a large area, making my home look (more) chaotic. My crafty corner has expanded and now it occupies any possible surface not only into my 'office' but also in our spare room (anyway, we're not having visitors for a long time). But I don't force myself into achieving every task perfectly before starting a new thing, I'm just letting ideas and projects come up and develop in an organic way. Which is making the process more enjoyable and less stressful.

This is something I wore to go for a walk, a simple and comfy outfit!. These trousers are actually oversized leggings (two sizes bigger than my usual one) charity shopped. Not the first time I buy oversized leggings, as they're really comfy and all I had to do is add a tighter elastic waistband, easy peasy.
Tunic by La Redoute, I've owned it for more than ten years (at least since Jul2010)
- sneakers, Adidas outlet (old) / zapatillas
- raincoat, Lighthouse (old) / chaqueta impermeable
- cork bag, Fine Cork Portugal / bolso de corcho
This is another building in danger in our city, which deserved a pair of articles in our local newspaper, here and here. Nothing new, as there is a high number of derelict palaces (even medieval), which nobody cares for. But I hope this one can be saved, it's really magnificent.

Some flowers to wish you a fabulous week!

Os dejo unas flores y mis mejores deseos para esta semana, espero que sigáis bien.

  1. Your starfish crochet is absolutely stunning, I love the colours, they match your fabulous outfit, what an investment that La Redoute tunic turned out to be!
That building is beautiful, I hope it can be saved. I hate it when our heritage is left to decay.
I hope you feel much better soon! xxx

    1. Thank you!, I totally agree that this tunic has been a real workhorse (La Redoute made some beautiful stuff back then!).
I also hate when the most picturesque streets are now full of derelict buildings or abandon lots! so dissapointing!

  2. The crochet flowers are gorgeous! I can't wait to see what you turn them into...it's good to have projects on the go and it doesn't matter if they're spread out everywhere. Sometimes you need to see the bigger picture! It's also brilliant that you know how to cope when you're down and feeling low. I'm the same as you and find walking will lift my spirits instantly.

I love your La Redoute tunic - worth every penny it cost and still going strong 10 years later!

Hope you have a lovely week

    1. Totally agree about seeing the bigger picture! ;DDD
I'm managing my lack of energy and bad mood quite well, I just go for a walk. Sometimes I go outside just to read a book, it's like a (short) holiday!
Most of my clothes were bought years ago, I'm growing my own vintage pieces!

  3. I'm sorry to hear you've been under the weather a bit, but well done on going for walks, starting - too many - projects and meeting friends. I really have to push myself to do things lately, blaming it on the time of year - the old Spring tiredness - as well as being tired of you know what. Love the tunic and crochet starfish, and how cheerful are those flowers? I do hope the building can be saved. It would be too sad ... Besos xxx

    1. The old Spring tiredness!, I know it well!. I try to keep myself busy and enthusiastic about new projects, even an appointment at hairdresser's is an event. A long conversation with a friend makes a difference too.

    1. Totally agree that creativity need a good dose of chaos, such a great phrase!
This crochet waistcoat is taking ages, but the process is being very creative and a bit anarchic!, just what I like!.
I'm always happy to find some comfy trousers or leggings second hand!
This old house has appeared in the newspaper and local news, so our politicians will care for it (initially). I keep my fingers crossed.
The weather is unusually cold here too, which obviously don't lift our spirits!

  6. I hope your walks and your art/crafts make you feel better, Monica. I have been feeling the spring doldrums too, lately. I've resolved to DO SOMETHING this afternoon to make myself feel better. Going for walks definitely helps. I am loving your crocheted flowers! That variegated wool is perfect. That is going to be a GARDEN of florals! Take care, big hug, and have a good week.

    1. I've always found that making something creative makes me feel better. Also long walks make a difference, even in the rain (but not downpours!). We're having some wet and cold weather!.
My crochet waistcoat is growing like a garden, actually!

  7. Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling the best. I have found the last couple of months to be particularly challenging at work - a year of working from home, by yourself, takes it's toll after a while, and for me that means feeling tired all the time. Hopefully now that the weather is getting warmer, more time spent outside will help.

Love the look of the crocheted flowers!

    1. A year of working from home can be really exhausting, hope it comes to an end. I've come back to work full time after months at home or having a reduced timetable. Now I have to work twice as hard or I feel so.
      Wish you lots of sunshine!

  8. Those flowers are excellent, and so colourful! I look forward to seeing how all your crafting turns out. My husband has given up trying to keep all my crafting in one place. It has to spread!
