Autumn rain

Finally I had my wardrobe seasonal switch done and it has left me with mixed feelings. It's an unexpected joy to reencounter all those winter clothes I had almost forgotten. On the other hand, I've had to say goodbye (until spring) to some favourite summer clothes. As many of my winter items are just functional clothing, it means that my wardrobe looks less appealing to me these days.
Anyway, I refuse to give up colour and fun only because of winter's dreariness (as Autumn slides into rainy weather, a sea of black coats takes the streets). However, I'm ready to layer like a pro and wear all the summery clothes still in my wardrobe, which are actually all year round ítems. And I'm also doing some 'thrifting therapy', visiting some charity shops and every second hand stall at Sunday Street market, to inject more colour and fabulousness into my winter wardrobe. Let's take up this challenge!

We have had some rainy weather and a sudden drop in temperature, nothing dramatic. I'm sorry for the people in the mediterranean coast who are suffering another torrential rain, even if less catastrophic than previous cold drop. Hope weather behaves for everybody!

  3. I had the same mixed feelings as you, Monica, as after my seasonal swap, my wardrobe suddenly looked far less colourful. I did go out hunting that same week for some colourful stuff to add to my Winter wardrobe. At this time of year, we can still get away with wearing some summery stuff, though, but it's true that layering is key. And you really are the Queen of Layering! It's such a pity that people cannot be as colourfully dressed as you. It would cheer up a rainy day no end! Besos xxx

  4. I love it, dear Monica, that you don't give up bright colours and wonderful patterns although the temperatures dropped and there is now rain in your area! Both of your looks are so well combined and you look fantastic. I neither stop wearing colours during the colder periods of the year as I still believe that bright colours are much better for the own mood (as black pieces for example black coats) :)

  8. You are an expert at layering, Monica! I love all your brights, as always. I deliberately kept some brights out in my fall wardrobe so that I wouldn't fall into the blahs. Why are there so many black coats? Don't people want to be seen (even for safety?!) in the winter?
