Spring Is Coming

Still not happy with this new season and the changeable weather. Not the first time I write on the subject of unpredictable weather conditions and probably not the last one, as this is typically spring weather. One day is freezing cold in the morning. Next day is warm because of the southern wind, but also rainy. A perfectly sunny day becomes a stormy evening. However there are some beautiful trees blooming and days are longer, so more outdoor activities are possible. Longer walks. Lighter clothes. That distinctive feeling of something exciting (a travel?) around the corner. Spring is coming.

I always try to get my week off to a great start, so I just dressed up in something comfy that cheer me up. I feel that if I dress down on Monday, I'll be going to work in my pyjamas on Friday.
I picked a polka dot cotton dress (by CandA, but ten years old), a crochet cardi I made ages ago, a vintage necklace and some comfy sneakers by Nike (old) and Seasalt trench coat. Scarf shopped at local retailer Eme

This is my 'suitable for medical appointment' kind of outfit: no tights, no tucked in tops. I had an appointment for my annual mammogram on Tuesday, which came with an additional bone densitometry test (the best part of the appointment, as it was painless). I have good bones!. Then Mr.A. took me to have some coffee and a toast with ham and tomato, a much-needed respite after spending two hours into the clinic. Well done!.
Sporty trousers shopped at a clearance sale (years ago), striped pullover by PuntRoma (old), turtleneck by La Redoute (old), old sneakers by Nike, usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal.

I was still wearing tights on Monday but the temperatures raised so much last week that I went bare legged and short sleeved every evening. Totally unseasonably weather, again!.
It was hot enough for some wide trousers. These ones were purchased second hand at Sunday street market last year, a lucky find as they're great quality, unworn, and look like a design piece (at least they've got an interesting shape and lots of fabric, so probably not a cheap cloth!). This is the kind of lucky find that keeps me interested in rummaging (never let any stone unturned!).
That black jacket is so old that it has become vintage. Striped tshirt by CandA, shoes by Camper. Coat shopped retail. Scarf was a present by Mom.

These trousers were not so difficult to style as I expected, so I wore them twice in a row. Repeat offender again and again!. It's easy to rewear same clothes when they make you feel like a million bucks.
Raincoat by Seasalt (new, winter sales!), second hand tshirt, black turtleneck by LaRedoute (old) and Adidas sneakers (outlet)

Have a fabulous week!

  1. Three lovely blue outfits, Monica!
I love those voluminous blue trousers, they're wonderfully sculptural and really suit you! I'd rather have fewer beautifully made clothes that I love and want to live in, too.
Great news about the bone density results, hope the mammogram results are good, too. It's important to keep those medical appointments.
Bare arms and legs - I cannot wait for our temperatures to warm up, it's been snow, ice and minus temperatures for days here, it's very draining! xxx

  2. What fabulous trousers! They really suit you and I love how you styled them; you look fabulous in all your featured outfits. Aren't mammograms awful? I hate having them and am very glad when its all over. I'm so pleased you have good bones! I don't think the bone density test is done as a routine investigation here; I certainly haven't had one when I have my mammogram. I must find out about it. I know my friend has regular bone density checks but that's because she had chemotherapy.

    The blossoming trees are wonderful!

  3. I think the weather will always keep being a topic for those like us who live in moderate climates. I know I do mention the weather in some form or other in almost all of my posts :-) Hearing you on changeable weather that doesn't seem to be able to decide which season it is. We are having exactly the same. Yesterday it was 20°C and now barely 9°C!
Fabulous outfits as always. Loving the symphony of blues in Monday's outfit, and I'm sure you were the best dressed girl in the clinic on Tuesday. You definitely deserved your coffee, by the way.
The repeat offender wide trousers are fantastic. No wonder you wore them twice. The outfit with the Breton top and the jaunty beret is my absolutely favourite of them all.
Oh, and aren't those Spring blossoms a sight for sore eyes! I can't wait for "Primavera" to start in earnest!
    Besos xxx
