Orange Is The New Orange

As the weather keeps on being unseasonably warm most of the time (except a few foggy cold days), I also keep wearing my orange puffer jacket. It's amazing that most of my winter wardrobe is still stored in our spare room and I only wore my shearling coat twice. However we can still have storms and snow and some of that so needed rain, as the weather is so unpredictable.

This is a second hand polyester dress recently acquired at Sunday street market. It's a vintage piece altered by a previous owner, who enlengthened it and fitted it to her (probably) apple shaped figure. So totally ill fitting on me! ;DD. Not sure about keeping it, as I only feel comfortable wearing it under a long layer. So I added that long crochet cardi in pink (not matchy but who cares!) that I tied in a knot and hided under my puffer jacket, so it's only visible once I remove my jacket and let it out. Actually, too complicated for a busy life.
Tights by Snag, shoes by Camper, wool scarf from an artisan fair.

More orange colour next day!. I've worn same t-shirt and skirt together many times, even same necklace and scarf, so totally a repeat offender of an outfit. That skirt was made of a battered old bedspread which I dyed orange. T-shirt shopped retail years ago. Necklace was a present. Scarf was shopped at a street market. Shoes by Camper. Usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal. Crochet beret.

That's a viscose dress that I acquired at Vinted (it's not my favourite place, too much overpriced stuff). But I have a weakness for those colours!. I couldn't help but wear it with that orange jacket, and lots of matchiness (purple tights by Snag and some orange sneakers (Adidas outlet). It was so easy that probably I'll wear it again and again.

It was such a warm evening that I throw caution to the wind and went out wearing just a (wool) cardigan. No coat!. Totally crazy weather!. Obviously, I almost freezed my %* when walked back home in the night after having a coffee with my friend M.
That dress was shopped (at least) fifteen years ago, crochet cardi (pattern by Katie Jones), retail shopped boots, and bag by Emily The Strange (ages old)

I've watched lots of storks during my walks along the riverbanks. Lots of cormorants and ducks too!.
Have a fabulous week!

  1. I love that new to you geo print mini dress with the crochet cardi over the top, it doesn't look at all ill-fitting on the photo. The black and white dress is fabulous and I love the woven maxi skirt, too. How weird that you find Vinted over-priced, I only ever look at the "Recommended for you" section so maybe the algorithm knows how much I'm willing to pay and only suggests the cheap stuff - a current Monsoon dress was £2 last week!
Love the cormorants and ducks and also that beautiful ornate wrought iron gate.
Our Winter weather usually arrives in February, we've been threatened with snow for the end of the week! xxx

  2. I have to agree with Vix: that geo print mini dress doesn't look ill-fitting at all. And it looks absolutely fabulous with the crochet cardi on top!
Other favourites here are the bedspread maxi skirt and the purple and orange viscose dress. Orange and purple are totally your colours, and your orange puffer has definitely earned its keep in your wardrobe.
We too are back to milder temperatures but I won't be putting away my jumpers just yet. It's been known to snow and freeze here well into March and even beginning of April.
How lovely that you got storks, and I'm a big fan of cormorants, which are such prehistoric looking birds!

  3. I think the geometric print dress looks fab on you and I love how you matched it with pink cardigan etc - it looks very groovey! Loved the bedspread skirt and oh my goodness isn't that patchwork scarf beautiful? The dress you've had for 15 years looks as fresh as if you bought it last week; I can see why it's a keeper. The orange floral dress is clearly easy to wear and it looks great on you - I can see it with sandals in the summer, too.

We just gave to accept that the weather has gone completely mad and roll with it...the storks and their nest are wonderful. Hope there's a lot of little storks to come!

  4. I LOVE your orange/red outfit!! I hope you can take the dress in a bit to make it fit you - it's really cute! Your purple print dress is lovely - I've been hearing a lot about Vinted lately, but I really need to touch and feel clothes myself. How clever you are, to make that skirt - both dyeing and transforming it from its previous bedspread life!
