October at home

We had some cold and rainy weather welcoming us when we arrived from holidays, but it didn't last long. Usual warm temperatures are back, even warmer than usual, and also usual changes from morning to evening, temperatures in the range of 10-30ºC in the same day. This is really Autumn in all its glory, so I have to wear a thick jacket when going to work in the morning and then I miss wearing sandals when I go back home. Well, I like layering and I carry a massive bag where I can put my jacket/cardi when necessary.

The smell of roasted red peppers is one of the first signs of Autumn. It's peppers seasons and many people are busy, roasting and peeling before putting them in preserve jars. This is also industrially made in factories, actually a major industry (piquillo peppers!). Red peppers are also stringed on some thread and then hunged to dry: they sell them ready to go in the local market. They make an usual 'decoration' in the kitchens and balconies!.

This is the counter of one of our favourite bars, and you can see a variety of pinchos (or tapas if you prefer that name). Marinated tuna, anchovies, scallops, pork belly, everything served in small portions. We love it and feel lucky to enjoy some delightful food!

We went for a walk and ran some errands, so took some photos too. I wore some comfy clothes and a purse recently acquired during our algarvian holidays. Another cork bag into my (small) collection!.
The turquoise trousers were acquired months ago, old striped t-shirt by CandA and a beach dress worn open, by 4x4 years ago. Sneakers by Adidas, outlet (old). Necklace from a charity market.

It's time to reorganise my wardrobe and take out some Autumn clothes. I store my out-of-season clothes in (recycled) plastic bags at our spare room, and use some labels to keep it clear. I've opened the first 'Otoño' bag and used that same bag to store my heatwave capsule (now label 'Verano'). Anyway, I try to declutter and keep the amount of clothes reasonable.

Hope you're having a fabulous week!.

  1. We too came back to cold and rainy weather, but unlike your temperatures, ours haven't returned to the highs they were before, which I'm thankful. Still, I'm hearing you on getting dressed warmly in the mornings and then regretting all the layers when it's time to go home!
I'm loving both of your outfits here, but the second one is my particular favourite. Surely another cork bag couldn't have been a better holiday souvenir!
I'm also loving the sight of those strung peppers and those pinchos do look mouthwateringly delicious.
I need to do my change-over, and get my Autumn/Winter stuff out of their plastic bags, so thanks for the reminder :-) Besos xxx

  2. After 34°C on Rhodes, we came back to 12°C - it's a real shock to the system. It was still Summer when we left the UK!
I love your seasonal packing away, such a good idea to store your clothes in bags rather than stuffed in a suitcase like I do - saves on the ironing when that time of year rolls around again!
You're such a pro at layering and embracing colour all year round. You needed another cork bag, of course!
The markets look absolutely gorgeous, so much better than anything here. I love the strings of red peppers, especially! xxx

  3. We are expecting the first freeze tomorrow night, so everything still living in the garden gets covered, then next week back into summer temperatures.
Your wardrobe is so organised! Mine are...not!
I'm captivated looking at all your vegetables in the market. Everything in ours has been shrink wrapped in cling film.

  4. I was keeping an eye on the weather ahead of our trip to Seville, and noticed there had been a lot of rain in central Spain - it was looking really autumnal where you are. (And that market! The fruit and vegetables sold in Spain are so good. No wonder the food's so good.)
