October & Autumn?

This has been a really strange month, as it's supposedly Autumn but doesn't feel like it actually. Despite the leaves falling and some people wearing puffy jackets and knits, it's twenty-something almost everyday. I'm not interested in wearing any winter clothes until it's actually winter, I overheat easily enogh, thanks. So I wore some light jackets in the chilly mornings and that's all.
We have a bank holiday today, which has made me feel even more confusing after the time change this weekend. Anyway, now it's dark sooner in the evenings, so I have to change my timetable in order to make the most of them and go for a walk if possible.

- jacket, second hand (eBay) bought it years ago / chaqueta de segunda mano (eBay) de hace años
- scarf, retail (old) / pañuelo de tienda local, antigüito
- maryjanes, Hotter (ages ago) / merceditas, de hace siglos
- cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal (old) / bolso de corcho
- rings by Ciclón (retail) / anillos de Ciclón
- bracelets were presents or second hand / pulseras, regalos o de segunda mano
This is one of the dresses that I took for a jazzup to a local designer (Ramonak Workshop). I wore it with a denim jacket that I acquired (second hand) years ago, and an orange scarf. I also wore orange shoes and an orange cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal. The cute brooch was a present by Veronica. Earrings from a local business Eme

This is what I wore to go for a walk and then have our usual apéro. Not so usual that I take photos of the typical tapas bars, but this is a favourite one in the San Juan street. I also took a pic of an old enamel sign in the street and another one of the saint himself in his niche. Not the kind of things that most people notice, as this is a busy street when it's apéro time!

Hope you're having a fabulous week.

  1. Aren't people weird changing their wardrobe just because of the date rather than the weather? They're even stranger for wanting to embrace drab, dull clothing! I love your zingy tunic and that fabulous necklace, the Eye of Horus maxi and that colour trousers and tunic combo. Viva summer clothes!
It's 8°C and has been raining almost incessantly for 24 hours now. My brother has just texted Jon with photos of the glorious sunshine on Malta and I'm green with envy! That enamel sign is fantastic, I'd love that in my garden. Thanks for photographing it! xxx

  2. We've had all four seasons in a week so the wardrobe choices need to stay flexible. Always love seeing your outfits and photos of where you live.

  3. It has indeed been a strange month of October, to say the least. In other years, I would have finished my wardrobe changeover by now, while now I've only been doing bit, and only because I do not want to be overwhelmed when it eventually gets cold.
I'm loving your "transitional" outfits, particularly the first one. The dress is a stunner, and so is your necklace. The pink jacket is just perfect with it. The jazzed up dress is absolutely fabulous too.
Thank you for sharing those photos of San Juan street. Tha

    1. Oops ... I hadn't quite finished :-) That tapa bar looks very inviting and I'm loving the enamel sign! Besos xxx

  4. The weather in October has been very mild but we have now reverted back to the typical weather for this time of the year. I felt cold yesterday for the first time in ages. I loved all your outfits and the addition of a light jacket is all I needed earlier in the month, too. Not now - it's coat weather and scarf and gloves!
    Have a fab weekend,

  5. I have a lot of "shoulder season" clothes in both my fall/winter and spring/summer wardrobes so if I have to, I can be cooler/warmer than the actual weather (so count me as one of the "weird" people who swaps over by date!).

These outfits all look lovely, but cold! :) I love seeing all the signs! Mmmm...tapas!
