Not So Summery Autumn

Autumn has arrived finally, in the form of some welcomed rain and not so welcomed lower temperatures. But it's still quite warm in the evenings, so urban walks have been in the menu anyway.

I've tried to squeeze some wears from summery items still in my wardrobe. These turquoise-mint trousers are really in the summery side. But I wore them with a knit jumper and my Seasalt trench coat for a walk in a rainy day. The handmade-but-not-by-me jumper was acquired second hand and then shortened. Shoes by Camper. Usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal. Scarf was a present.

Don't make me unleash my flying monkeys! Mwhaha!

I don't care if Halloween is over, it's always a good idea to wear a witchy coat with striped tights and red shoes. I'd have liked to wear a red beret too, but my winter hats are still stored!.
This is a summery 80's skirt, really lightweight, that I purchased at Sunday street market months ago, my eye immediately attracted by its bold print. I paired it with one of my many striped t-shirts (this one by CandA), my second hand red jacket and an orange scarf which is actually a sarong. Autumn is a jackets season in my opinion, which means that brooches also come out to play. This birdie one was a present from Mom. Striped tights by Snag and shoes by Camper. Earrings shopped at Eme, a cute local business!

Another summer skirt which was 'winterized' with tights and a jacket. This colourful skirt was purchased at Sunday street market, denim jacket from Asos Marketplace boutique Bich, shoes by Camper. Scarf by DayADay (old), striped t-shirt from a clearance sale, and earrings as above. Usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal. Brooch made by me (epoxy resin over a photo and some beads).

Sunday outfit to pay a visit to our street market and go for a walk. Not the best idea to wear this teal fleece jacket (CandA, old), as it was a windy rainy day. Cotton leggings were a second hand purchase. Tunic shopped at La Redoute (more than a decade ago). Sneakers by Nike outlet (old). Ancient crossbody bag (probably twenty years old).

  1. It seems we are sharing similar weather as we've had a string of rainy days and a serious drop in temperature.
I applaud you for winterizing your Summer garments and I particularly love those two colourfully patterned skirts.
And of course it doesn't have to be Hallowe'en to wear that fabulous witchy coat! Those striped tights are delightful as is the cute bird brooch which was a present from your Mum! And finally, thank you for sharing that gorgeous rainbow! Besos xxx

  2. Same here with the weather except the evenings are even colder!

Fab outfits. Striped tee shirts go with everything! I loved both your skirts; such gorgeous patterns and colours and easily warmed up with jumpers and warm tights; I've been wearing similar. Yay to wearing jackets! Your gifted scarf was such a wonderful match for the top.

Hope you have a great week,
    xxx

  4. Ooh, look at that lovely rainbow! I giggled at your "flying monkeys" comment, related to your striped tights and red shoes! Love it! I have never found a pair of striped tights, but I love them.
