Autumn Calling

Despite many magazines and shopwindows are showing all kind of knits and tweed and even coats, it's still summer here, everyday 30-something Cº. And I still wear summery clothes, even if you can see me wearing a jacket in these pics (mornings are chilly!). I took my photos with the first rays of the morning sun actually, but in no time this will not be possible: soon it will be dark when I go to work. So I'm making the most of these moments!.

I tried another layering over this oversized tunic, this time adding more linen in the form of a light jacket. Even if the colours don't match, I think they can work together. I'm a huge fan of 'short over long' layering anyway.

- Second hand tunic and jacket from Sunday street market / chaqueta y túnica de segunda mano del mercadillo
- scarves couture skirt, sewed by me / falda hecha de pañuelos, costura casera
- bronze leaves necklace, retail (old) / collar de hojitas de bronce, antigüito
- pin-brooch, by paesica / broche de paesica
- sandals, Chiruca outlet (old) / sandalias
- usual straw bag, Etsy (years old) / el habitual bolso de paja, de Etsy, de hace años.
Looking forward to wear more trousers as the weather is not suffocating (30ºC feels totally normal here, particularly after heatwaves). I sewed these trousers on Feb2022, they were made of a sarong that you can see here. Still remember that its slippery fabric was a nightmare to sew, so some seams are less than perfect. But the colour is totally my thing.

- top and jacket, both from eBay (second hand) / top y chaqueta, los dos de segunda mano, eBay
- sandals, Chiruca outlet / sandalias
- scarf, charity shopped (old) / pañuelo, Cáritas
- necklace, Dayaday (old) / collar, antigüito
Also welcoming some maxi skirts that I've been neglecting, because I didn't feel like wearing so much fabric around my legs when it was really hot. Even the gauzy cotton felt uncomfortable!
My 'matrioskas' skirt is usually worn with similar colour combos which include red-orange and turquoise. This time I wore a teal bolero-cardi, that creates a contrast over an orange top, and added a versatile necklace that seems to go with any possible colour!.

- top and cardi, both second hand from Sunday street market / top y chaquetita, de segunda mano del mercadillo
- skirt made of a second hand dress (removed the top) / falda hecha de un vestido de segunda mano (descosí la parte de arriba)
- sandals, Chiruca outlet / sandalias

Have a fab week!

  2. The mornings and the evenings here are much cooler but it's not at all cold - yet! The evenings get dark quite quickly, too.

I love your outfits; they're always thoughtfully put together and interesting. I love layers and short over long layers look good. The trousers you sewed are beautiful and what a marvellous colour. Loved the maxi skirt and of course all the fabulous accessories with each outfit. I bet people look forward to seeing your fab outfits each day!

  3. I actually love it when morning are starting to get slightly cooler! Not so much the shorter days, though. Taking outfit photos will indeed no longer be possible before or after work, unless one uses artificial light, which I hate!
Loving these three outfits, the first one being a particular favourite!

P.S. Sorry for commenting so late, I've been away, and I'm trying to catch up :-)
