weekend & waistcoat

We have enjoyed a sunny weekend, a relief from rainy and windy weather which is coming back now. I've worn different floral skirts and different wool coats, but I've kept a similar style both days, which makes my life easier. I'm a repeat ofender, actually, as I like to wear similar ensembles once proved that they work on me.

This waistcoat was recently purchased together with two denim jackets and I had planned to wear them in the spring to come, as denim is not the most warm fabric ever. It's really uncomfortable in a cold day, in my opinion. However, I always find difficult to save any clothes 'for later' (don't even speak of saving them 'for good'!), so I've worn my new denim under my coats. This is something I had never did before, but this new combo is more related to unseasonably warm weather than to me changing my mind about denim's qualities. Temperatures rised to 15ºC in the weekend! (59ºF).

Linking Visible Monday and wishing you a visible week and a slow fashion autumn!

  2. How amazing you have kept your beautiful patchwork skirt for 32 years! I love it. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to fit into any of my clothes from 30+ years ago...I also love your denim waistcoat; they're very versatile and go with so many things. Brillant made by you skirt; the pattern is such fun and so colourful. Your mum's coat is wonderful such a gorgeous colour and I really like the style; it's very flattering! What a clever idea to have a reversible scarf. You always choose such great accessories to go with your outfits so everything always looks so well coordinated.

I'm so glad you had some some warmer weather. We've had some sunshine but it has remained cold and the winds are very icy. Anyhow, it's Winter and what else can we expect? I do enjoy a warm fire in the cold evenings...

Hope your week is going well.

  3. Gosh aren't you guys lucky with that weather? Send some of it over here!

I love denim vests. They used to be a real staple in my closet. I still have one but I rarely wear it. After seeing you rocking it with these bold skirts though I want to get mine out.

The bold floral with the stripes is so fun!

  4. We too are having unseasonably warm weather right now. Today it must have been about 15°C too. However nice that might sound, it is a bit incongruous, especially with all the Christmas decorations all around. Your denim waistcoat is perfect for layering, whatever the season, and I'm loving these two outfits you're treating us to today. Your patchwork maxi is absolutely gorgeous and you're a vision in purple in that coat. I've always loved that handmade flower skirt of yours, and the way you are wearing it here, with the striped t-shirt and waistcoat, has a definite summery vibe! Besos xxx

  6. I am coming back around (again) on vests/waistcoats after several years of resting from them, style-wise. My breath caught when I saw that magnificent red swing coat over that gorgeous flowered skirt! What a wonderful look!

A very Happy Christmas to you, Monica! See you on the other side!
