welcome to my real life

We've been very lucky and the forecasted rain (hurricane category!) was only a shower or two, but other regions have been affected by floods. Weather is becoming not only unpredictable or unseasonable, but also hazardous. Wish you're safe and well!
Obviously, my life goes on as usual. And this is what I wore to go out to buy groceries and pay another visit to the books fair. My tweed jacket came from a charity shop and it's part of a suit (pristine condition) which costed 12€. Unfortunately, the skirt doesn't fit me properly and it's going to take some work to make it wearable, but I haven't given up!. I have to unsew the lining and have a look at seams, but I really hope that some hem allowance was included, as it's a quality piece. Another one to my sewing pile!
And it still amazes me that sizes are such a crazy thing!
Linking Visible Monday and offering apologies for my lack of activity (and responses) in the last days. Autumn is being busy and I'm easily absent-minded.

  2. What a relief you've only had a couple of showers! You're looking fab in your striped dress/tweed jacket combo. I'm a big fan of tweed jackets and just thinking of tweed suits makes me go all weak at the knees. I do hope you'll be able to do something to the skirt to make it fit. I'd love to see you glamming up that tweed suit! Besos xxx

If anyone can make the skirt work, you can!

  5. I'm relieved to read that the forecast was not right and I like the jacket of the suit you bought in charity for that amazing price. I'm absolutely sure you will finally also the skirt sew suitable for you. Yes, sizes are a miracle but your look is simply convincing and absolutely beautiful.

  6. Sizes are just nuts - I basically ignore them. I adore this outfit - the colours are so lovely. The blue + teal is so harmonious. That jacket (suit! yay!) is lovely on you. Your attention to detail is excellent: the earrings, the typewriter pin (love that!), and the shoes! This outfit makes me happy.

I hope the crazy weather eases up soon! What a beautiful place you live in.

  7. Oh what a gorgeous jacket! I do hope you can work some magic on the skirt. I love how you've paired the jacket with the striped dress and tights. The blue bag gives a really good pop of colour as does the yellow top under the dress. What a fabulous typewriter brooch!

I do hope the weather improves for you and that you have a great weekend.

  8. There's been some terrible flooding in Spain, hasn't there? I'm glad you're safe.
That jacket is very different for you but it looks fantastic with the stripey dress and those glorious earrings. The cobalt blue bag and that typewriter brooch are wonderful.
I hope you can rework the skirt but, if not, that tweed would make a great bag! xxx
