summer layering

This week temperatures have dropped from 38ºC to 20ºC (maximum), which has been really shocking!. It's chilly now, so some layering is required and I'm happy with that. Not so happy with the 13ºC this morning as I was wearing my sandals (not a sensible choice). Some rain also helped.

- pants, Festa (new) / pantalón
- sandals, El Naturalista (old) / sandalias
- cardi, La Redoute (old) / chaqueta
- parrots bag, Eme (old) / bolso, de Eme (old)
- some vintage bracelets (80's?), a papier maché bracelet, another carved one (Sfera, very old) / unos brazaletes vintage?, uno de papel maché, otro tallado que compré en el Sfera hace siglos.

My physiotherapist is so nice than he let me chose my ankle bandage color!. Now I can walk (slowly) and it's so good to return to 'business as usual'

This is my table, aka disaster area, with some of the projects which have kept me busy. I'm making more papier maché bracelets, more brooches, more sewing too (gingham galore!). Lots of fun, even if some projects didn't work as it was expected!

sundress & heatwave

It has been so hot last days and I've felt so tired than dressing up looked like a waste of energy and time, when all you could think was how to keep yourself as cool as possible. But I've just picked a cool breeze dress to run some errands early in the morning, and I've added some arm candy and big earrings, which are my options to cheer up any outfit when layering is impossible. I encourage you to wear your bigger earrings and bracelets in this heat and keep your coolness! A big hat is also a good idea!

- dress, Lady Vintage London (many years ago) / vestido, de hace años
- bag, Surkana (old) / bolso
- bracelets, flea markets, charity shops... / pulseras, de mercadillos, de tiendas de caridad
- sandals, InterBios (old) / sandalias

This dress was worn previously many times. And I've realized that Aug2014 and Jul2014 were not so hot than this melting June, as I even worn some cardis!

shirts & trousers

We've been withstanding a heatwave for more than a week, 35ºC (95ºF) everyday (that's unusual, but not totally awful) and 25ºC (77ºF) every night, which is pretty uncomfortable!. These temperatures are really high, as June was used to be chilly (in the North of Spain), the kind of weather that makes you think on wearing a cardi over your summery clothes. I'm missing some normal weather conditions.
I've been walking a little bit these days, just a few metres, as my ankle is feeling better. Obviously, everybody runs errands early in the morning, because it's too hot to be outside later. It's so boring to be at home almost the whole day!
That's what I worn to buy some groceries with Mr.A., who is taking me everywhere by car!. I'm wearing trousers to cover my ankle splint, but I picked the lighter fabrics I could find, white linen and cotton gauze. I'm not absolutely happy with that first outfit, I think that a pair of bold color trousers would look better, but it was a comfy outfit anyway. The floral shirt was made of a 'granny dress' which I bought second hand.
Have a nice week, whatever the weather! and join the party at Visible Monday!

turquoise sneakers

I'm still taking it easy and can't actually walk, but Mr.A. has taken me for a ride to the farm where we're used to buy fruits every summertime. It's cherrys season! and that's a good reason for a pose in front of some trees. Then I've been delivered to the next stop, an easy accessible terrace where we had a drink. After some days at home, I've enjoyed being outside for a while!

holidays #2

I'm back from holidays, a day before it was expected, because I twisted my ankle (once more). After walking uphill and downhill some picturesque villages and lots of footpaths paved with slippery stones, I managed myself to twist my ankle when walking on a parking (irony!). At least, we've visited some really beautiful places in Dordogne, which we would like to go back in the future. Now I'm at home, resting and letting my ankle heal by itself for a week or so, and feeling a little bit stupid because of my crappy ankle.

holidays & excursions

I've been out for holidays last week, visiting Bordeaux for the first time, and thinking on visiting it more frequently in the future, as it's really accessible from our city. I don't know why we never visited it before!. Obviously, some chateux (and wine) were included in our route.

I've been visiting some cultural spots too, and particularly enjoyed the tower of Montaigne, one of my favorite writers ever (books nerdy!), and the town of Bergerac
