October Winds

The forecasted stormy weather arrived and we had strong winds but skipped the worst effects, so no significant damage to worry about. Obviously, I avoided any wooded area when going for a walk, sensible as I am. However, I noticed that being sensible or taking official advice is not a popular thing.

I was challenged by some coworkers to wear something appropriate for Halloween, so I wore my 'jazzed up dress' which they loved. Actually, I wear this dress the whole winter long, it would be a shame not doing it!. Halloween is Not a traditional holiday here, but children enjoy it and it's becoming quite popular.
Second hand dress was jazzed up by Ramonak Workshop, tights by Snag, Camper shoes. Coat was shopped retail (label Sophiacurvy). Bag by Emily The Strange.

Bolso de Emily The Strange.
Strong wind is not the best weather to take pictures, lots of problems to keep my skirt 'in place' (great idea to wear pettipants!;D). I think that colour combo could look springlike, particularly because of white details which I couldn't help but add (matchiness is so addictive!).
Trench by Seasalt (two years old). That skirt was shopped retail ages ago. Can't remember where that lace cardi or that green t-shirt were acquired. Tights by Snag, sneakers by Adidas. Cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal.

That was another appearance of some winter classics: polka dot coat and fake dress. When I acquired that coat (years ago) I was told it could be 'too special for a weekday' or that I could get tired of it. Those things never happened. It has become a real workhorse, as it's one of the comfiest coats ever, and goes with most of my clothes!.
The 'fake dress' is actually a top and skirt, but it was once a second hand dress that I revamped. Sneakers by Adidas. Crochet cardi-thing. Scarf was shopped retail decades ago. New pendant acquired recently at a local artisan's workshop.

Next day it was also windy, so I couldn't take my photos outdoors, just usual crap mirror selfies. My Seasalt trench was perfect for the weather, I even made the most of that hood, very practical indeed but not photogenic. And I wore a skirt in a windy day, totally not sensible, but once the coat is done it's ok. So only my coworkers saw my outfit actually!.
Skirt was sewed by me years ago (african wax fabric), second hand shirt (fitted by me), tights by Snag, Camper shoes, usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal, scarf was retail shopped years ago. Some old beads (Aïta) and new earrings retail shopped at Eme, a local business (link because I love)

My repeat offender of the week was that skirt I wore next day. I tend to wear my midi-skirts (and my jackets) during shoulder seasons, as they're not easy to 'winterize', but keep them in my wardrobe the whole year long (just in case!).
We went for a walk and ran errands (ironmonger, bakery, pharmacy), as usual, and Mr.A. decided to take an 'autumnal photo' of the trees at this urban park. Similar outfit, only adding an orange cardi which was a second hand find years ago. The weather was not particularly bad, even if the sky looked ominous.

The weather was still stormy and windy during bank holiday on November 1st and next days too. Whatever the weather, we took two days off and enjoyed them in our usual wild style: long walks and customary apéro on Saturday morning (we had not tapas & wine everyday, just in case you're thinking on it!).

Have a fab week!

  2. Your tapas and walks sound perfect to me, our holiday "tradition", too!
I had to smile at the photos of you battling the wind. Of all the weather conditions wind is the one I dislike the most and its definitely not the blogger's friend when it comes to photos.
Fabulous outfits as always, your Hallowe'en dress is fantastic,I love the Camper shoes and the massive spot coat was a brilliant investment. You're Autumn personified in the flyaway skirt, the fake dress was a superb rework and the hooded coat was worth every penny - stylish & practical.
Mr A was right to photograph those trees, they're gorgeous. xxx

  3. I'm glad to read that the storm didn't wreak havoc at yours, nor did it here. Although there were some people fool enough to walk in a park - and paid the price :-(
Your outfits are brilliant, as always, putting a smile on my face at all the colours, textures and details.
Loving the non-just-for Halloween dress, that gorgeous floral fly-away skirt and your fake maxi dress in particular. And of course that polka dot coat is perfect for every day including weekdays. And who would ever get bored of such a fabulous coat? Besos xxx

  4. Glad the storm wasn't too bad - we had one pass through today but it's gone now. Loving all your outfits and your beautiful colour co-ordination; you really have a gift for that. The new earrings are fabulous! Your spotted coat was a great buy. I recently bought a similar spotted pre-loved raincoat and wear it as often as possible but it's no good for very cold weather...

    Have a great week,
    xxx
