sparkly & red

This is what I wore on Monday and Tuesday, same old cotton dress with two different red cardigans. First one is a vintage piece, recently purchased at Sunday street market. It was hidden under a mountain of cheap polyester knits so its sparkliness was the first thing I noticed. Once I touched it, I also noticed that it was a quality piece with an amazing weight!. It's all covered in beads and sequins and made of pure silk, all this for the huge amount of 3€. Obviously, some beads were missing, probably because of being in the mentioned mountain of clothes is not the best condition for delicate clothes. But I easily restored it to its previous glory using some materials existing in my stash. It was a lovely piece to wear and surprisingly it didn't get caught on anything!
Usually I wear Red colour the whole year round, but this cardi looks particularly wintery so I want to make the most of it immediately. I can see it paired with tartan (soon!) despite I never wear anything so christmassy!. What's happening to me?

¡Me noto cambiada!

  1. I can't believe that beaded and sequinned silk cardigan was only € 3. Well done on rescuing it from that mountain of clothes. That first outfit is balm for the soul and the eyes alike. What a fabulous mix of colour, texture and pattern. I can't wait to see you pairing the cardigan with tartan, which will be an absolute joy. Never mind the Christmas connotations! Besos xxx

    1. Dear Ann, usually the street market stalls sell just discarded fast fashion, but sometimes one can found hidden gems!. I'm glad you enjoy this!
I'll try to ignore the Christmas connotations, indeed!

    1. Once more, we agree!, love the attitude of 'all year round fabulous'.
I think that 'playing safe' rarely works, totally prefer myself the 'more is more'.

  5. I've purchased a couple of sequinned and beaded jackets recently and I wonder what has come over me, as they are not going to be worn frequently, but I'm all about the sparkle these days. The cardi is a beautiful piece, and definitely not just for the holidays.
