From Blues to Red

I've been quite absent last weeks, but not totally missing as I still tried to catch up with your blogs and comments. However I haven't feel like taking photos or writting a post, more busy reading or watching the snow from my window.
I had my photos taken when doing the groceries shopping, which is the only social event in my life these days. Not particularly glamourous, but I picked some old doors as background to add interest.
I wore more tweed, this time a skirt (I wore the jacket of the suit last week) and a second hand pullover that I've shortened. It's a hand-knitted piece, which amazes me as it has an intrincate pattern. But we can find all kind of unexpected things when rummaging at a second hand stall.

This mini dress was sewed for me on Jul2014 and worn many times through last years. I consider it a mood booster, particularly when worn with red tights (I'm a huge fan of red tights and own no less than five pairs, totally a hoarder). You know, in case of doubt wear Red.

Have a nice weekend and keep yourselves safe!

  1. You've made me think I need some red tights!
Completely understand not feeling like posting, and grocery shopping becoming a social activity. Hoping you stay safe and well.

  2. love tweed together with some nordic knit!
especially in such wonderful coloured outfits <3 <3 <3 well done shortening the sweater. the tailored dress is great fun - and yes: RED is helping a lot.
interesting antique doors - i would not be bored if you write something about the history and art your posing in front of :-D

my own colored tights get not much worn - the arthritic knees need the warmth of thermal or wool leggings and with the high boots and midi lenghts there is no leg visible anyway....... maybe in spring.
    stay safe & sane! xxxx

  3. I absolutely love your jumper! I've fallen in love with 'Fair Isle' or 'Nordic' designs lately and although I have some socks and one jumper (nicked from grandson) I am missing rummaging to search for more! The jumper looks great with the tweed skirt and I loved your mini dress with the red tights. Red is such a good colour for lifting one's mood. Fab accessories as always.

That looks like an interesting book...

    Take care

  4. I'm totally getting your absence, Monica. I'm in hibernation mode myself, and some days I really have to force myself to do anything at all. It's hard finding the inclination to do outfit photos when grocery shopping is one's only social event! I think blue and red do suit you equally well. That tweed skirt is delightful and what a fabulous find that Nordic design jumper was! Such wonderful pattern and colours! And what are the chances of one's book matching one's duvet :-)
Your mini dress is gorgeous too and such a sight for sore eyes on a grey Winter's day, especially worn with red tights! I have several pairs too, but surely that's not hoarding! Or is it :-) I'm glad I'm not the only one who insists on wearing red lipstick! Stay safe and fabulous, Monica! Besos xxx

  5. I took a week off from commenting and replying to comments - you just need to do that sometimes. I often feel lack of motivation to do ANYTHING.

Your red tights cheer me, as does your cool mini-dress. I love that knit dress too - what a fantastic pattern!

Hugs to you - happy reading and staying cozy and safe.

  6. "When in doubt, wear red" is a good motto. I haven't had any interest in posting to my blog, or being photographed, and I'm finding it difficult to keep up with commenting regularly as well, but I hope that the people whose blogs I follow regularly know I still read their posts. There has been a lot of reading going on here too.

  7. Good to see you - and your fabulous doorways! We're both wearing the same Snag tights, hurray!
I love how your book matches the bedding, mitchy matchy perfection.
It's so easy to fall behind with blogging, I'm frantically trying to catch up. I'm not sure where the time goes especially when I can't go anywhere! xxx

  8. I love you advice of, If in doubt, wear red! I love a bright colour to lift the spirits and red is the best of all. I understand that feeling of not wanting to blog sometimes. I felt that way in the run up to Christmas and then came across a plan to cheer me up.

I do love that fancy sweater and would wear it in a heartbeat too.

    Keep safe too xxx
