massive flower skirt & orange

I'm taking a short break from work (and computers), even if I'm not going on any further. Anyway, I'm going to make the most of this free time and go on some excursions to my nearby favourite places. Sometimes it's not necessary a long travel to feel in a holiday!.
This is what I wore on Monday to go to work, lots of bright colors to cheer up the day. And also lightweight fabrics because it was another damn hot day, 38ºC (100ºF). I'm not a huge fan of summer and I'm glad that it's not such a long season here in the north of Spain (if you compare it with the southern long summers!). Actually I think that temperatures close to 35ºC (95ºF) are bearable if the nights are fresh and pleasant so it's possible to breath (and sleep!) for a while. If this doesn't happen, then your life shrinks to a really small time window in the mornings. No wonder I hate heatwaves so much!

- necklace and bracelet, charity markets (old) / collar y brazalete, de mercadillos solidarios

- mask, by Nonapapallona, local design! / mascarilla, de Nonapapallona, diseño local

We made some stuffed aubergines (eggplant) for dinner, with onions, courgettes, red and green peppers, tomato and a slice of codfish, everything well chopped. Usually, we cook the aubergines (cut in half) in the microwave for 8min, but you can steam or bake them (only that it takes more time!). They are tasty, despite the photo doesn't do them justice at all.

Your aubergines look delicious, I'm hoping mine grow and I can eat them soon.

  3. What you cooked looks delicious and I love also your colourful look! It is understandable you don't like the summer as it is really hot in your area. Here in Bavaria even in summer it has seldom more than 25 °C ... Enjoy your time away from the computer!

    1. Actually, your 25ºC temperature makes me green of envy!. It's totally my kind of summer and there are some places in the north of Spain where they enjoy such pleasant temperature, and usually I visit them (but not this year!)

  4. You look lovely in your massive flower skirt. I love the orange top. I really need an orange top but can't find one but I'll keep looking. I hope you have a lovely time off work and get to all your favourite places. I do not know how I would cope in the temperatures you describe....

    Take care

    1. Hope you find that lovely orange top you're looking for, sometimes it takes some time to find the right thing!
I'm still amazed that people keep saying they like summer even in a heatwave!, it's a total nonsense for me!

  6. My comment disappeared as I was typing it, so you may also get one that isn't finished! I am really liking this bold combo of orange and turquoise, and the coordinating accessories. I feel the same way about the extremely hot temperatures as you do. The whole month of July has been hot here and I haven't been going out unless I really need to. Enjoy your break from work, and online!

    1. I've been having issues when commenting in other blogs too, and have tried to find the reason why my comments dissapear!. I've noticed that my comments stay if I've logged previously. But not always, which is annoying!. Actually, I can't offer a solution. Sorry!
I feel sorry for you suffering hot temperatures too, it's not the best thing to enjoy outdoor activities, nor a social life, which is so annoying!. Feeling solidarity!

  8. Your outfit, featuring the beloved massive flower skirt, is a delight and a sight for sore eyes. Orange and turquoise/blue is such a fabulous combo. Well done on finding that H&M top still with tags - you wonder what's wrong with people to get rid of things they've never even worn, but it's good for us second-handers! Love the necklace and how even your mask matches your outfit! Those aubergines sound delicious! Enjoy your stay-cation, and I do hope you'll get some slightly cooler weather and cooler nights! 1. You're right, I wonder what's wrong with people, but I also take advantage of this as a secondhander!. Mixed feelings!
Glad that the massive flower skirt has such a cheering effect!. And I have some different masks now, so I can feel a little better wearing them if I match them to my outfit!
      besos

  9. Fantastic outfit, Monica! Such a vibrant color combination, with great details (including the mask, it really looks great here). Like you, I don't like heat, and I am thankful that we have a cool Summer this year. Though they predict 92 F next Monday, oi!

I love eggplant, yours sounds really good! My daughter made Chinese style eggplant for dinner just last night. :)

  10. That is one of my favourite skirts of yours, and I love the brilliant colours here. Red + turquoise has to be one of the best colour combos ever (after pink and yellow ;-P).

I never buy eggplant - it scares me!
