We enjoyed some spring-like days last week, and now we're into rain and wind once more. It looks exactly like another unpredictable Spring is coming. Whatever the weather, I've chosen some red and blue colors to be worn under my plaid jacket, because I think they make a classic color combo, and a quite lively and vivacious one indeed. As allergies and usual asthenia are coming too, I'll need lots of these qualities. Actually, lively colors are always welcoming to my wardrobe!

La semana pasada tuvimos unos cuantos días muy primaverales, y ahora estamos de vuelta en medio de la lluvia y el viento, lo cual suena exactamente como que la (inpredecible) primavera está llegando. Cualquiera que fuese el tiempo, me decidí por el rojo y el azul bajo mi chaqueta de cuadros, porque creo que componen una combinación de colores muy clásica, y también muy animada. Y según se acercan también las alergias y la habitual astenia, necesitaré mucha de esa animación. En realidad, los colores vivos son siempre bienvenidos a mi vestuario.

grey zigzag

After months looking for an affordable coat (in my size), I've been lucky and found this wool coat at a clearance sale in a department store. It was marked 179€, then 89€ (which I consider an acceptable discount!), but I got it for 35€, because they were selling up all the coats. When I was told the price, I almost shouted 'take my money!'.
I'm perfectly conscious that I've bought a grey coat, which is nearly so dull than a black coat, but, hey, it's a good quality coat and it has a pretty zigzag design. So I'm not going to be fussy!. I've worn it for the first time in a monochromatic ensemble, with some different prints and textures and some kind of masculine style.

Después de meses buscando un abrigo a un precio razonable, y en mi talla, al fin he tenido suerte y encontré este abrigo de paño en una liquidación de un gran almacén. En la etiqueta ponía 179€, luego rebajado a 89€ (que ya es una rebaja muy aceptable), pero yo lo conseguí por 35€, porque estaban ya liquidando todos los abrigos. Cuando me dijeron el precio, casi grito 'toma el dinero'
Me doy cuenta de que he comprado un abrigo gris, que es casi casi tan aburrido como un abrigo negro, pero, la verdad, es un abrigo de buena calidad y tiene ese motivo en zigzag. Así que no voy a buscarle pegas. Me lo puse para estrenarlo con todo muy monocromático, pero en diferentes estampados y texturas, y un toque de estilo masculino.

teal & dresses

We've enjoyed a nice and warm weather last days, so I've worn lighter layers and lighter coats, particularly my purple coat and my teal jacket (both second hand purchases at eBay). This week I've worn a lot of teal color, which is one of my favorite (neutral) colors. I know it's not, but I like to use teal as a neutral, and I'm also used to wear khaki or dark green as neutrals. I think that you can create your own selection of neutral colors (actually, you can mix and match whatever you like!). So I've chosen teal, because it works nicely with any warm bold colors: yellow, orange, red or even purple. (Purple is not really a warm color, but it's the warmest of cold colors, so it could play in both teams!).

Hemos tenido unos días con un tiempo buenísimo y muy agradable, y eso significa menos capas de ropa y abrigos más ligeros, como este abrigo morado y esta chaqueta azul petróleo (ambos fueron compras en eBay, de segunda mano). Esta semana me he puesto un montón este color azulado, que es uno de mis colores (neutros) favoritos. Ya sé que no es realmente un color neutro, pero me gusta usarlo de esta manera, igual que me gusta usar el caqui o el verde oscuro como neutros. En mi opinión, puedes crearte tu propia selección de colores neutros (en realidad, puedes mezclar y combinar los colores como te dé la gana). Así que he elegido el azul petróleo, porque funciona muy bien con cualquier color cálido brillante: amarillo, naranja, rojo e incluso púrpura. (También sé que el morado no es en realidad un color cálido, pero es el más cálido de los colores fríos, así que podría jugar en ambos equipos!)

As you can imagine, I don’t always feel happy with my outfits, sometimes they’re absolutely not my style and I feel they’re inadequate or strange. I think this is part of the game, as I try new ensembles out of my comfort zone almost every week. That’s a real challenge, because I hate change and tend to repeat whatever I think works. On the other way, I like all kind of creativity, and that involves fashion, self-expression and my love for anything flamboyant, edgy or artistic (such a snob!). Walking the line between these two aspects makes my life pretty interesting!
So I've tried to wear this vintage dress in a lady like style which I think it's not particularly my style. Anyway, I would like to give it another try, because it's red and fun, before a total revamp!.

Como podéis imaginar, no estoy contentísima cada día con lo que llevo, a veces siento que no me va nada bien, que es totalmente inadecuado o raro. Creo que esto forma parte del juego, porque pruebo nuevas combinaciones fuera de mi estilo habitual casi cada semana. Esto es un verdadero reto, ya que odio los cambios y tiendo a repetir cualquier cosa que considere que funciona. Por otro lado, me gusta todo lo creativo, incluyendo la moda como expresión personal y todo lo que sea extravagante, atrevido o artístico (muy snob!). Moverse entre estos dos aspectos tan diferentes hace que mi vida sea más interesante!
He intentado un estilo clásico 'de señora' con este vestido vintage, y no creo que sea particularmente mi estilo. De todos modos, me gustaría darle otra oportunidad, porque es rojo y divertido, antes de darle un cambio completo.
