After ten days over 38ºC (and last days over 40ºC), both my wardrobe and myself feel totally exhausted. We've been living in groundhog days, staying at home every evening, closed blinds and fans running at full speed. Total lockdown, because any outdoor activity makes you feel miserable, and can be dangerous for health. As you can imagine, my mood has worsened through the days and now I'm just hoping that temperatures go down soon!.
One of my favourite outfits for extreme heat. Oversized linen tunic and lightweight palazzo trousers made of viscose, and both are pieces that barely touch my skin, breathable and breezy. That tunic was acquired second hand and then dyed in a rusty orange colour. Trousers came from PuntRoma, years ago. Those 'bronze leaves' earrings were retail shopped, and necklace was charity shopped. I also wore my 'extension chain' which I frequently use to adapt the length of necklaces, totally recommend to have one of these (I made mine of discarded pieces of jewellery).
I've worn same ensemble a lot of times, made a recap of some of them, since I acquired that (originally white) tunic in 2022.
More recaps on my Heatwave Capsule. Same lightweight dresses again and again. Obviously, all of them are made of breathable and airy fabrics, being cotton gauze a favourite one.
As you've noticed for sure, I haven't taken outfit photos last week (feeling too miserable to do it). Also too exhausted to use my computer in the evenings. So I've been staying in our (air conditioned) living room, reading and sewing and watching cozy crime series (don't judge me). I can recommend you Magpie Murders and Moonflower Murders, in an ironic Agatha Christie's style, and other lighthearted series like Harry Wild.
I payed a visit to our local Sunday street market, even if it was damn hot at 35ºC in the early morning. The temperature has dropped 10ºC today and it feels like breathing again, a joy for our bodies and souls, and obviously I'll be out for a walk immediately. Have a fabulous week!.
Oh my, I definitely don't envy your plus 40°C temperatures, and totally get that you're exhausted and are keeping the blinds down. Not my kind of weather at all!
ResponderEliminarYour Heatwave Capsule definitely had its work cut out! I particularly love the tunic you dyed in rusty orange, and both of the red and white print dresses.
Those bronze leaf earrings are stunning, and I'm loving the idea of the extension chain!
Glad to read it has cooled down by now!
Mil besos xxx
I love your outfits....and the red dress one is my favourite one.
ResponderEliminarI hear you. The high temperatures are exhausting. I have to work outdoors often, and it can be really hard. I'm very anemic and the sun plus heat just tires me out. Sometimes the heat exhausts me so much I have to catch my breath.
I'm sorry youve been struggling with the heat, <onoca. Althugh it was in the 40s when we were in Greece we didn't have to work in it like you do so it was fairly manageable but it was rather challenging when it was that temperature at Glastonbury on the day we had to pack up the stall and break it down, certainly not the temperature for manual labour!
ResponderEliminarThe top you dyed is fantastic, much better for losing the white background. You always look fabuous whatever the weather! xxx
