Bye, August!

I'm happily waving at August, saying goodbye to one of my less favourite months!. However it's still summer and still damn hot, including another heatwave from hell (actually, I lose count of how many of them we've suffered) and 40ºC for some days. Not the best thing for my mood. But I'm dealing with it, I have plenty of books to read, some series to watch and even some crochet projects (even if they're small ones, as it's not sensible to crochet something massive and woolly in this heat). Because that's what we do when it's so hot, we stay at home and close the windows and blinds as soon as sun is high, lockdown mode!. Luckily those damn heatwaves are shorter as Autumn is coming, and the weather will eventually go back to 'normal' (instead of psycho-mode, trying to kill us!) which will make a difference in our lifestyle. So good news!

Es un placer despedirse de agosto y decir adiós así a uno de los meses que menos me gusta. Sin embargo el verano sigue aquí y sigue el calor, incluyendo otra OlaDeCalorDelInfierno, y ya he perdido la cuenta de cuántas hemos tenido, lo que significa que tenemos 40ºC durante varios días. Y no es que sea lo mejor para mejorar el estado de ánimo ni el humor. Pero ya estoy acostumbrándome, tengo unos cuantos libros pendientes, series para ver y hasta proyectos de ganchillo que puedo ir haciendo (de los pequeñitos y de algodón, que no está el tiempo para tejer una manta de lana). Porque esto es como estar confinados, nos quedamos en casa y además con las ventanas cerradas y los toldos y persianas bajados en cuanto el sol calienta mínimamente. Menos mal que las Olas de Calor van aflojando según se acerca el otoño y suponemos que el tiempo se volverá más 'normal' (en vez de intentar matarnos como un psicópata de peli mala) y podremos volver a la vida mediterránea propiamente dicha!, qué bien!

We had some 'good weather' days last week, when the temperature was under 35ºC and even a little bit chilly in the mornings (chilly enough to wear a cotton scarf!, so delightful!). I wore those colourful trousers again and again, as they are becoming a favourite piece (glad that I acquired two pairs at a heavy discount!). I picked the easiest colour combo ever to go for a walk on Saturday morning, orange is the new orange, as I own many (second hand) orange tshirts. I've worn a similar ensemble again and again, Repeat Offender!. That massive necklace came from Vinted. Sandals by Paredes. Scarf was charity shopped years ago. Hat was retail shopped.
La semana pasada tuvimos unos cuantos días de 'buen tiempo' con temperatura por debajo de 35ºC e incluso un poquito fresco por las mañanas (lo suficiente como para llevar un pañuelito de algodón al cuello, qué maravilla). Me puse estos pantalones tan coloridos una y otra vez, porque ahora mismo son de mis favoritos (menos mal que compré dos pares, y con un descuentazo). La combinación de colores es de las más fáciles, naranja con naranja, y me lo puse para hacer recados la mañana del Sábado (muy fácil para mí, porque tengo camisetas naranjas en abundancia, todas de segunda mano!). He repetido esta combinación un montón de veces, Reincidente Total. El collar gordo es de Vinted. Sandalias de Paredes. Pañuelo de una tienda solidaria, hace años. Sombrerito de tienda local.

Otra vez el mismo tipo de pantalón pero con top de otro color y unos collares naranjas variados (la mayoría de tiendas solidarias). Pendientes de Vinted. Y el bolso amarillo es de una tienda local hace años.

More colourful trousers, and those are my current favourite ones. I have a weakness for jungle print trousers!. Those came from Vinted (label Ulla Popken). Firstly I wore them with a striped t-shirt and a cotton scarf (retail shopped) and that's one of my favourite ensembles (striped top + jungle/floral bottom: it always works, in my book). Next day I picked a solid top and added a straw hat as I had planned to go to the pool/lido after work (hence the beach bag and pouch). Not very glamourous, but it was too hot to care for anything except comfort.
Más pantalones coloridos, y estos son mis favoritísimos, tengo una debilidad por los pantalones de estampado jungla. Estos son de Vinted (marca Ulla Popken). Primero me los puse con una camiseta de rayas y un pañuelito de algodón (de tienda local), que es una de mis combinaciones favoritas también (top de rayas y parte de abajo estampada en flores o junglas varias). Al día siguiente elegí un top de color liso y le añadí un sombrerito porque tenía planeado ir a la piscina después del trabajo (de ahí la bolsa de playa y el bolsito de mano). No es muy glamuroso, pero a quién le importa con este calor.

Last Monday morning was chilly enough to wear that long cardi. Even a minimal layering makes me happy!. That dress came from Vinted, last year, label Toscane. Lime-green cardi came from Vinted too, only more recently. Not the most practical thing ever, it demands extra-attention when there are steps or rolling office chairs around. But I like its swooshiness and colour!
El lunes pasado por la mañana hacía lo bastante fresquete como para ponerse una chaqueta ligera, una superposición mínima que ya me entusiasma, echo de menos algo de variedad. El vestido es de Vinted del año pasado, marca Toscane. La especie de chaqueta-chaleco color verdelima también es de Vinted, pero más reciente. No es lo más práctico del mundo, se engancha y hay que tener cuidado con las escaleras y las sillas de oficina. Pero me gusta la vaporosidad y el color.

From a long cardi to a short one!. That cardi was the last one I crocheted and it was that short because I ran out of yarn (I had to use some similar colour from my stash to finish off it). Anyway, I like 'short-over-long' so it's ok!. That skirt was made of a second hand dress (I removed its top) and that turquoise t-shirt was retail shopped ages ago. Next day, same skirt with another (second hand) shirt and similar bijouterie and an orange cotton scarf. It feels really good to wear even that light layers, it means that 'good weather' days are coming. I've missed them this year, as never happened in the spring. I'm happy to welcome my favourite side of summer (which is frequently called 'Autumn') ;DD
De chaqueta larguísima a cortísima. Esta chaquetita ha sido la última cosa que he hecho en ganchillo y quedó así de corta porque se me acabaron los ovillos (tuve que rematarla usando algunos restos que tenía guardados, de colores más o menos similares). De todos modos, me gusta el efecto 'corto sobre largo' así que le sacaré partido. La falda la hice cortando un vestido de segunda mano (le quité la parte de arriba y listo) y la camiseta turquesa es de hace años. Al día siguiente, la misma falda con otra camiseta también de segunda mano, misma bisutería y un pañuelo naranja. Se agradece muchísimo hasta esta mínima capa que es llevar un pañuelo, parece que ya está aquí el 'buen tiempo'. Porque se ha echado de menos el buen tiempo de verdad, que no tuvimos en primavera (ni en verano). Así que bienvenido sea el lado bueno del verano (que mucha gente llama 'otoño') que es mi época favorita del año. ;DD

This book was my birthday present this year (I indulge myself with something absolutely unnecessary every birthday). As a huge fan of colour (and medieval history) I've enjoyed some of M.Pastoureau's books, and now I'm the proud owner of this (quite luxurious) one. And my favourite colour!
Este libro ha sido mi autorregalo de cumpleaños (todos los años me compro algo absolutamente innecesario por mi cumple). Me habían gustado libros de M. Pastoureu, obviamente porque me encanta el color (y la historia medieval), y ahora tengo este tan chulo y lujosón. Y es mi color favorito!

August & Real Life

As I've been a lazy blogger (again) because of that pesky heat, I don't have many outfits to share. However, I've still taken (random) photos and shared with family&friends as everybody does!. So it could be rude not to share them here too!. That's my excuse to sprinkle liberally my post with random stuff!
De nuevo tengo el blog abandonado y es que por culpa del calor tampoco apetece sacar fotos ni tomarse la más mínima molestia. Sin embargo sí que he sacado fotos de otros asuntos, y las he compartido, como hace todo el mundo. Así que sería tonto no publicarlas aquí también. Esta es mi excusa para soltar unas cuantas fotos variadas por aquí, en vez de los conjuntitos habituales.

Same old clothes have been in heavy rotation, gauzy dresses and gauzy trousers. I'm not going to call them my 'heatwave capsule' anymore, as they're actually my 'summer wardrobe' by default. Which needs some improvement after three months of 'wear, wash, repeat', as our summers are becoming longer and hotter. I've noticed that similar 'Heatwave Capsule' was posted on Aug2025, so that's becoming a recurrent theme.

Los mismos conjuntos que he estado llevando todo el tiempo, vestidos vaporosos y pantalones ligerísimos también. Ni siquiera lo voy a llamar mi 'armario para ola de calor', porque en realidad es mi vestuario de verano sin más, la ola de calor se ha convertido en la norma. Y se ve ya un poco repetitivo después de tres meses de lavar y poner una y otra vez, porque, además de subir la temperatura, encima el verano es cada vez más largo. Necesita mejorar!.

Sharing some of my favourite salads these days, inspired by Vintage Vixen's greek holiday. My salads are not so fabulous, but they're easy and made of local products. Those are microwaved aubergines (eggplant) over finely chopped iberian ham, some tomatoes and hard boiled egg (and a good olive oil, of course). You can steam or roast aubergines too, if not a huge fan of microwaves. And you can change ham for olives!. Particularly delicious when served still warm with fresh bread.
Aquí os dejo algunas de mis ensaladas favoritas para estos días, inspirada por las vacaciones griegas de VintageVixen. Estas ensaladas no son tan estupendas, pero son fáciles de hacer y los ingredientes son locales. Esta primera está hecha con berenjenas hechas en el microondas sobre jamón ibérico finamente picado, luego unos tomates y huevo duro, y aliñado con aceite de oliva. Las berenjenas también se pueden hacer al vapor o al horno, si no sóis de microondas. Y se puede cambiar el jamón por aceitunas. Está buenísimo servido templado, con un buen pan tostado.

Salad number two is a lentils salad. Canned lentils are easier but I recommend to cook them 'al dente' for salads, it makes a difference. Sliced fresh beatroot and some pickles, olives, guindilla peppers (or any pickle you prefer), and tinned mackerel. And obviously, some local tomatoes!. Usually I add a teaspoon of mustard to the dressing of olive oil and vinegar. Damn simple!
La ensalada número dos, de lentejas. Ya sé que las lentejas en conserva son más fáciles de usar, pero recomiendo cocerlas 'al dente' para las ensaladas, es muy diferente. Lleva también remolacha fresca fileteada, y pepinillos, aceitunas, guindillas o lo que tengas a mano, y caballa en lata. Y, evidentemente, tomates, que están en temporada. También le añado una cucharadita de mostaza al aliño de aceite y vinagre. Todo muy sencillo.

Another Repeat Offender of a dress, that I keep in my wardrobe all year long. It was acquired second hand at Vinted and it's made of viscose so I love its floatiness and layering qualities. Not so happy with those pastel colours, which are not my fav ones, but I'm learning to deal with them. All I need is some accessories and a hat to give it a twist. I've worn a silver pendant and some vintage glass beads with my CandA hat.
Otro vestido totalmente reincidente, que mantengo en el armario todo el año. Lo compré de segunda mano en Vinted y es de viscosa, así que es muy vaporoso y se puede superponer fácilmente, con lo que sirve para todo tiempo. Lo que no me encantan son los colores pastel, pero voy aprendiendo a llevarlos, añadiéndoles accesorios y un sombrerito para darles un toque. Me puse un colgante de plata y unos collares de vidrio vintage, con mi sombrerito del CandA.

Colourful trousers to the rescue!. Those came from Vinted too, and I've worn them many times with a green top. I picked an orange one this time, even if I was not sure about wearing orange and hotpink together (result: kinda like it). I've noticed that I own four orange t-shirts, all of them second hand, not a bad number!. That pink jacket-cardi was also shopped second hand at Sunday street market. Charity shopped scarf and necklace. Sandals by Allrounders (old).
Pantalones anchos y multicolores, siempre buena idea!. Estos son también de Vinted y me los he puesto mucho con un top verde. Pero esta vez elegí el naranja, aunque no estaba segura de cómo quedaría con la chaqueta fucsia (creo que me gusta!). También me he dado cuenta de que tengo cuatro camisetas naranja, todas segunda mano, no es un mal número. La chaqueta es de segunda mano también, del mercadillo del domingo. El pañuelo y el collar son de tiendas solidarias. Sandalias Allrounders, antigüitas.

Another dress from Vinted and also another one that I'm keeping in my wardrobe all year long, due to its layering qualities (and its Pucci-nesque print which totally caught my eye). Really comfy dress but it needs ironing, which means that it's not having all the wearing it deserves. Sandals by Paredes. Retail shopped straw bag and hat. Necklace by a local artisan.
Otro vestido de Vinted y otro que se queda en mi armario todo el año, porque sirve para superponer capas, y además tiene este estampado estilo Pucci tan vistoso. Es muy cómodo, pero hay que plancharlo, así que no me lo pongo tanto como merece. Sandalias Paredes. Bolso de paja y sombrerito ambos de tiendas locales. Collar hecho por una artesana local.

August & Summer

Still summertime and still damn hot, we're surfing those heatwaves again and again!. My summer wardrobe feels quite exhausted (as I do) and I've been wearing same gauzy dresses for months, so I've been tempted by second-hand webs and also by sales to acquire more dresses. I've also lost some dresses (two favourite ones!) because of moths, which was pretty unusual as I'm extra careful with my clothes. I've been in a disinfecting and vacuum packaging frenzy for some weeks. But there is still no guarantee, and once I've taken all necessary steps, all I can do is hope for the best.

Sigue el verano y sigue el *#% calor, vamos surfeando esas olas de calor, una tras otra!. Ya estoy agotada y lo mismo puede decirse de mi vestuario veraniego, llevo poniéndome los mismos vestiditos ligeros desde hace meses, y siento la tentación de las páginas de segunda mano y también de las rebajas, para renovar un poco el armario. Además, he perdido dos vestidos de mis favoritos por culpa de las polillas, que es una cosa muy rara, porque cuido muchísimo mi ropa. Así que me ha dado un frenesí y me he puesto a desinfectar y a envasar al vacío en plan paranoico, pero aún así no hay garantías. Sólo queda esperar que todo vaya bien.

That was my Saturday morning outfit to run errands and then have our usual apéro time. Not the most glamourous background, but that's Real Life!. That skirt was found at a second hand stall in Sunday street market but it's actually by infamous label Shein (which is becoming a plague even in second hand stalls and charities). Anyway I liked the print and it's a lightweight & breathable fabric, so got it for 3€ (probably same price as new, but that's not my problem). I've worn it three/four times before having the chance to take a decent photo of it (Mr.A. took it actually!). I picked a navy t-shirt, acquired at that same second hand stall, then shortened. New sandals by Skechers (outlet). That necklace was a present years ago. Straw hat by CandA.
Esto es lo que me puse el sábado por la mañana para ir a hacer compra y luego tomar el vermú de costumbre. El callejón de fondo no es que sea muy glamuroso, pero así es la Vida Real!. La falda la encontré en un puesto de ropa de segunda mano en el mercadillo del domingo, pero es de la infame marca Shein (que es ya una plaga hasta en el mercado de segunda mano). De todos modos, a mí me gustó el estampado y es de tejido ligero y transpirable, así que pagué 3€ (que será probablemente lo mismo que se pagó nueva, pero ése no es mi problema). Me la he puesto tres o cuatro veces antes, pero no pude tomar una foto decente hasta ahora (en realidad, la foto la tomó Mr.A.). Elegí una camiseta azul marino, que salió del mismo puesto de segunda mano, y que luego acorté un poco. Sandalias nuevas de Skechers (outlet). El collar es un regalo de hace años. Sombrerito de paja del CandA.

El naranja es el nuevo naranja!. No puedo resistirme a unos pantalones anchos en colores vivos, así que recientemente me he comprado estos en un outlet (me compré dos pares!). Y claro está que tenía que ponérmelos con una camiseta naranja (de segunda mano), que es la combinación más obvia!. El collar enorme y los pendientes son de Vinted, pulseras de tiendas solidarias. Sandalias Paredes (antiguas). Mi habitual bolso de paja lo compré hace años en Etsy.

Repeat Offender!. That gauze dress came from Vinted (acquired three items from same seller, very good purchase) and it's really easy to wear once I removed its lining (who cares about revealing clothes when it's so damn hot!). I added some charity shopped beads and comfy sandals by Skechers and that's all!.
Este vestido de Vinted ya lo he publicado, reincidente total. Lo compré en Vinted, junto con otras prendas de una misma vendedora y fue muy buena compra. Es muy fácil de llevar, una vez que le quité el forro que tenía, que era incómodo y bastante sofocante!, no sé para qué preocuparse de las transparencias con el calor que hace!. Le añadí un collar (de tienda solidaria) y las sandalias Skechers y éso es todo.

Este vestido es un pedazo de reincidente de los grandes, lo compré en Vinted hace años y me lo he puesto un montón, porque lo mantengo en el armario todo el año. El bolso de mimbre es del Algarve, lo compré de vacaciones, y me gusta mucho.

Again and Again

As we're facing our Heatwave #4, it totally feels like heatwaves are becoming the 'new normal' and the extraordinary thing is having a few days of relief under 35ºC. Anyway, those few days when northern winds bring some breeze and lower temperatures are wildly enjoyed (running errands and staying outdoors!, so wild!). But I've also been busy having some social life, taking a short break to visit friends and trying to celebrate my birthday (and failing miserably!, but that's another story I'll tell you soon!).

Como ya llevamos cuatro olas de calor desde junio, parece que lo normal ahora va a ser ésto y lo extraordinario será tener unos pocos días de alivio por debajo de 35ºC. De todos modos, esos pocos días cuando el viento norte nos trae un poco de brisa y temperaturas más bajas son los que disfrutamos de verdad, aprovechando para hacer recados y estar fuera de terraceo (una locura de actividades!). Pero la verdad es que también he estado ocupada, y hasta he podido tomarme unas pequeñas vacaciones para ir a visitar a unos amigos, y también he intentado celebrar mi cumpleaños (fracasando miserablemente, pero eso os lo cuento luego!)

We've kept our routines, so Saturday morning is for running errands and then having our usual apéro. Our small city seems empty as some local businesses are closed for holiday and many people let the city for their second homes (sometimes they just go to nearby villages where they have family and friends). So we can enjoy a quiet city and go for a walk in the early morning (before the heat!).

Seguimos con nuestras rutinas, y el sábado por la mañana es para hacer la compra y luego tomar el vermú. Nuestra pequeña ciudad parece vacía ahora que muchos negocios locales cierran por vacaciones y la gente deja la ciudad para irse a los pueblos o a la playa (montones de pueblos cercanos están en fiestas). Así que ahora mismo tenemos la ciudad para nosotros, y está muy bien salir por la mañana temprano, antes del calorón, y dar una vuelta.

We took some free days (a mini-break!) and payed a visit to some friends who we've not met for years!. They're now living in Galicia, so we also enjoyed some delightfully lower temperatures (maximum 25ºC most days), and could rest for a while. It was a lovely time with friends, chatting and walking and sightseeing and having also some fabulous food!. They took us to the best places!
Hemos tenido unos días de mini-vacaciones y fuimos a ver a unos amigos que no veíamos hace años, que ahora viven en Galicia. Así que también tuvimos temperaturas más bajas (25ºC de máxima la mayoría de días), que es un verdadero alivio. Lo pasamos genial, charlando y paseando y viendo lugares y comiendo maravillosamente. Es estupendo cuando te llevan a los mejores sitios!

Back at home, I had plans to celebrate my birthday properly, but everything had to be posponed. The very same day of my birthday, I was feeling so sick that I spent most of the day in bed (next day was the same) due to some kind of virus. I'm feeling better now and hope I'm going to be fully recovered this weekend.
De vuelta en casa, tenía planes para celebrar mi cumpleaños apropiadamente, pero he tenido que posponerlo. El mismo día de mi cumple me empecé a sentir bastante mal, y finalmente me pasé la mayor parte del día en cama (y al día siguiente también), creo que por un virus. Estoy mejor ahora y espero estar recuperada del todo este fin de semana.

That dress is a favourite 'repeat offender' and very versatile. I acquired it at Vinted (label shein), I think it doesn't need too much, just a necklace and some bracelets and that's all. I do love that kind of dresses. That necklace was made by me using spare beads from old/broken bijouterie. Bracelet was shopped at Vinted (label Marion Godart). Usual ring by Ciclón. Earrings were retail shopped years ago.
Este vestido es de mis reincidentes favoritos, es muy versátil. Lo compré en Vinted, pero es de Shein y pagué demasiado por él. Creo que no necesita mucha cosa, simplemente un collar y unos brazaletes y listo, me encantan este tipo de vestidos. El collar lo hice yo misma usando restos de bisutería rota o despareja. Usually I pick something comfy and any accessories which could be easily stored in my locker (even a straw hat!). Esto es lo que me puse para ir a trabajar y luego a la piscina el miércoles pasado (qué calor hizo!). Normalmente elijo algo cómodo y unos cuantos accesorios que pueda guardar fácilmente en la taquilla (incluso un sombrero!). Este vestido de algodón lo compré en una boutique de segunda mano hace meses pero sólo lo he estrenado recientemente. El collar es de Vinted. Sandalias Paredes. Holiday and Heatwaves

Please, notice the plural of 'Heatwaves' as we're having our Number Two, with some days in between when we had only 'normal summer weather' around 30ºC. Anyway, we always try to make the most of those 'not heatwave days', running errands, visiting our fav street market, going to the local orchards to buy some fruits, and finally attending a wedding!. We've been busy, actually.
Esto va de olas de calor, en plural, porque ya vamos con la segunda, con unos cuantos días en medio en que teníamos tiempo 'normal de verano' osea unos 30ºC. En esos momentos es cuando hay que aprovechar el tiempo para hacer recados, ir al mercadillo o acercarse a los huertos locales a comprar fruta, y finalmente también para ir de boda!. Hemos estado ocupados de verdad!.

I do love to buy local, and there's nothing more local than cherries and peaches bought from local farmers. We're huge fans so usually buy too many of them, as they ripen naturally and last for days and days even in our high temperatures. I was wearing a second hand linen tunic (dyed in rusty orange by me) and trousers by PuntRoma (old), sandals by Paredes and charity shopped necklace. Repeat offender outfit as I wore it again, as it's one of my favourite 'heatwave capsule' outfits (wear, wash, repeat)
Nos gusta comprar producto local, y nada más local que los huertos de frutas donde se pueden comprar cerezas y melocotones. Normalmente compramos más de la cuenta, pero no importa porque es fruta que madura naturalmente y dura días y días incluso en estas altas temperaturas. Llevaba una túnica de lino de segunda mano (que teñí en este tono naranja óxido) y pantalón de PuntRoma de hace años, sandalias de Paredes y un collar de una tienda solidaria. Y es un conjunto reincidente, porque me lo puse de nuevo a los pocos días, es uno de mis favoritos de ola de calor (lavar y poner al momento).

Another one of those 'wear, wash, repeat' kind of outfits that totally make a difference in the summertime. Linen blouse was acquired second hand at our local street market, and linen trousers were recently retail shopped. I recommend to hang linen clothes right out from the washing machine, preferably on a hanger, and skip ironing (life is too short to care about wrinkles). That necklace was a present (ages ago!). Chiruca sandals. Second hand bracelets from Vinted. Usual ring by Ciclón.
Otro de esos conjuntos fáciles, del tipo que te puedes poner, lavar y repetir tanto como haga falta, lo que es muy útil en verano. La blusa de lino es de segunda mano del mercadillo y los pantalones de lino de una tiendecita local, comprados hace poco. Lo más recomendable es colgar la ropa de lino en perchas según se saca de la lavadora, y así se evita el planchado (también está bien aceptar cierto nivel de arrugas!, la vida es corta para preocuparse!). El collar fue un regalo, hace siglos. Sandalias Chiruca. Pulseras de segunda mano de Vinted. El habitual anillo es de Ciclón.

'Heatwave Capsule' to the rescue!. That dress was shopped ages ago, from the now out of fashion eBay, and I've worn it many times. That new straw hat came from CandA. Vintage necklace and bracelets, some brassandresin rings, and earrings from Vinted. I wear accessories even when it's 40ºC, still 'layering' in the heatwave!

Recurriendo a los clásicos de ola de calor!. Este vestido lo compré hace años en eBay (no hace tanto tiempo era el mercado de segunda mano de moda), y lo he usado mucho. El sombrerito de paja es del CandA. Collar y pulseras vintage, anillos de latón y resina y unos pendientes de Vinted. Aunque haga 40ºC los accesorios son el modo de añadir interés y no dan calor (o no demasiado!).

Those 'normal summer' days felt like a relief. I was totally happy wearing a jacket in the early morning (15ºC), that's my kind of summer!. That dress came from Vinted (I removed its lining, don't care if it's quite sheer) and jacket was also second hand from local street market. Those sandals by Wonders are ages old. That straw bag was shopped retail when in holiday.
En los días de calor normal se siente verdadero alivio. Esos días en que refresca por las mañanas (15ºC) y te pones una chaquetita, qué maravilla. El vestido es de Vinted (le quité el forro, quedó algo transparente pero no importa), y la chaqueta también es de segunda mano del mercadillo. Sandalias de Wonders, antigüitas. Bolso de paja de una tienda local cuando estaba de vacaciones.

Another 'normal summer weather' day, when we run errands and even sat on a terrace outdoors, making the most of it!. Some things you took for granted are not possible when temperature rises dramatically!. That's another dress from Vinted with sandals by Paredes and some charity shopped accessories.
Otro día 'normal' de verano, y aprovechamos para hacer recados e incluso nos sentamos en una terraza. Ese tipo de cosas que dábamos por sentadas y que luego no se pueden hacer cuando la temperatura sube ridículamente y no se puede ni respirar. Este es otro vestido de Vinted, con unas sandalias Pasredes y accesorios de tiendas solidarias.

That's the dress I'd planned to wear to friends wedding. Finally I had to change my mind because temperature was 39ºC (it was an outdoors ceremony and party), and that's a heavy cotton dress. I picked another one (lucky that I own a great collection!) and also wore a massive hat!. Being comfortable is key!
Este era el vestido que tenía planeado ponerme para la boda de unos amigos. Al final tuve que cambiar de planes porque la temperatura era de 39ºC (la ceremonia y la fiesta era en el exterior) y este es un vestido de algodón muy consistente. Elegí otro, ya que por suerte tengo donde elegir, y también me puse un sombrero bien grande. Porque sin estar cómoda no hay diversión!

Before the Heatwave

I'm taking you back in time again. Those photos were taken two weeks ago, even if it feels ages ago as the weather has changed so dramatically. We've gone from 'normal spring weather' to current Heatwave From Hell!. So now I'm feeling exhausted and annoyed and really tired of the damn heatwave. But let's keep on focused on good old times (two weeks ago!), when we enjoyed that spring weather, we had visitors at home and took them to our favourite nearby village for a walk.
De nuevo vamos atrás en el tiempo, ya que las fotos son de hace dos semanas, aunque parece siglos. Porque el clima ha cambiado de unas temperaturas 'normales' de primavera a golpearnos la Ola De Calor Infernal. Así que, ahora mismo, estoy de bajón total, como suele suceder cuando tenemos ola de calor, es irritante y agotador. Pero, mientras tanto, podemos volver atrás a tiempos más felices (hace dos semanas!) cuando el clima era más agradable y también la compañía, porque teníamos visitas en casa y nos fuimos todos a nuestro pueblo cercano favorito para dar una vuelta.

The weather was quite unpredictable, as it usually happens in spring, so I wore a jacket to our excursion. Also wore jeans (one of the few ones I own). Actually I don't speak 'casual' and I wear my everyday clothes when going out for excursions or travels as most of my clothes are comfy enough (in my book). Same for walking gear.
Everything is secondhand, except sneakers (by Adidas, old), retail shopped bag and that brooch was a present.
El tiempo estaba típicamente primaveral e impredecible, así que me llevé una chaqueta por si refrescaba (y sí, hacía fresquete). También me puse jeans, de los pocos que tengo. En realidad no sé funcionar en 'modo casual' y me pongo mi ropa de diario igualmente cuando voy de excursión o de viaje, ya que la mayoría de mi ropa es suficientemente cómoda, y lo mismo para mi ropa para caminar.
Todo es de segunda mano, excepto las zapatillas de Adidas (antigüitas), el bolso de una tienda local y el broche que fue un regalo.

Next day we drived (actually, Mr.A. did) to the coast and had a fabulous day visiting Getaria and some vineyards.
Al día siguiente nos fuimos a la costa y pasamos un día estupendo visitando unos viñedos en Getaria.

Back to business as usual, I picked those colourful trousers (from Vinted), which are really comfortable and easy to wear!. I'm always looking for 'jungle print' trousers, they're a staple in my wardrobe!. Probably the most versatile ones ever, as you can match them with lots of different tops (you can also create some 'contrast' with unmatchy items!). I added my fav blue cotton scarf (air conditioned office!) and a second hand necklace from Vinted. Sandals by Paredes. Straw hat came from CandA (recently acquired!).
De vuelta a la vida habitual y al trabajo, elegí estos pantalones muy alegres (de Vinted) que son comodísimos y fáciles de llevar. Siempre estoy buscando pantalones con estampados 'tropicales', son un básico en mi armario. Son de lo más versátil, porque combinan con montones de colores diferentes (y también se puede elegir no combinar, sino crear contrastes!). Los accesorios son este pañuelo de algodón (para el aire acondicionado!) y un collar de segunda mano de Vinted. Sandalias Paredes. Sombrerito del CandA, comprado hace poco.

The temperature was increasingly hot last week, so I had to unpack my 'Heatwave Capsule' earlier than expected. That second hand dress has been in my wardrobe for ages, and it's really comfy (gauze cotton!). I added a vintage necklace and those new-to-me earrings from Vinted, some brass rings and second hand bracelets. It was my first day going to the swimming pool after work, so I picked a cross body bag (by FineCorkPortugal) to keep things tidy.
Las temperaturas han ido subiendo a lo largo de la pasada semana y tuve que sacar ya la ropa que reservo para las olas de calor, mucho más pronto de lo habitual. Este vestido es de segunda mano y lo tengo hace siglos, es comodísimo, de gasa de algodón. Le añadí un collar vintage y unos pendientes nuevos-para-mí de Vinted, anillos de latón y resina y unas pulseras de segunda mano. Era mi primer día de piscina después del trabajo, así que me puse un bolsito cruzado (de FineCorkPortugal) que no me ocupara mucho.

That's another 'from work to pool' outfit, comfy and easy to wear. I took some 'real life' crap photos of how I look when going out in the morning, carrying my beach bag and a pouch!. Everything is second hand, except sandals (by Paredes) and retail shopped straw hat.
Este es otro conjunto 'de la oficina a la piscina', fácil de poner y quitar y muy cómodo. Me saqué unas fotos muy 'de la vida real' para mostrar qué pinta tengo cuando salgo por la mañana, llevando mi bolsa de playa y un bolsito. Todo de segunda mano, excepto las sandalias Paredes y el sombrerito de una tienda local.
