vintage dress & crochet cardi

This is my first attempt to wear one of the loose 80's dresses that my friend Sacramento sent me as a fabulous present. I'm an 80's lover, but have never worn this kind of 'secretary dresses' before, so I was worried on how to create something comfortable into my style. I don't know if I've managed it, but anyway I've enjoyed wearing a delightfully free flowing and vivid piece. I've picked a distressed cardi and usual chunky shoes, all around cold colors, but next time I will try some yellow for contrast, or perhaps a total revamp!

Este es mi primer intento con uno de los vestidos sueltos de los ochenta que mi fabulosa amiga Sacramento me regaló. Siempre me han gustado los ochenta, pero nunca había llevado este tipo de 'vestido de secretaria' anteriormente, así que me preocupaba cómo combinarlo dentro de mi estilo para sentirme cómoda. No sé si lo he conseguido, pero de todos modos, me ha encantado llevar esta tela tan estupenda y fluída, con un color tan vivo. He elegido una chaqueta de ganchillo muy suelta y mis habituales zapatos gruesos, siempre en colores fríos, pero la próxima vez será con un toque de amarillo para contrastar, o quizás una reforma total!

parcel of joy

Last week I received a fabulous parcel of joy from my friend Sacramento. It's so lovely that I've met so many people due to blogging, and some of them are now my friends!. I was more and more excited as I unwrapped some dresses and shirts and a pretty brocade pink jacket, and some bijuterie too!, and everything was absolutely colorful and amazing! and very 80's, which is very appealing to me (Alexis, here I come!).
I think I'm going to wear some of the dresses in a loose style, and also try some belts and waistcoats, because I'm really interested in trying different styles. Wearing vintage is always delightful, and I'm enthusiastic and grateful for this style injection in my wardrobe
When I worn this dress for the first time, it was raining cats and dogs, so I had to take some indoor pictures. No problem, the public library is one of my usual stops when running errands, so I took the opportunity to take my pics on another cultural background, :DD

La semana pasada recibí un fabuloso envío de alegría instantánea de mi amiga Sacramento en forma de paquete. Es genial la cantidad de gente que he conocido a través del blog, y algunas son ahora verdaderas amigas!. Me iba emocionando cada vez más, según desempaquetaba vestidos, y camisas y una chaqueta de brocado rosa, y además, bisutería!!. Y todo tan absolutamente colorido y maravilloso, y muy de los ochenta, que es algo que me encanta totalmente (Alexis, allá voy!).
Creo que voy a ponerme algunos de estos vestidos en plan suelto, y también probaré con cinturones y chalecos, porque me interesa mucho probar diferentes estilos. Siempre es una delicia llevar algo vintage, y estoy entusiasmada y agradecida por esta inyección de estilo en mi armario.
Cuando estrené este vestido, llovía a mares, así que tenía que tomar algunas fotos en interior. Sin problema, ya que la biblioteca pública es una de mis paradas habituales cuando salgo a hacer recados, así que aproveché la oportunidad de sacarme fotos en otro fondo muy cultural.

floral pants & purple pullover

This is what I've worn some days ago to go for a walk and run some errands, which are some of my usual activities (I'm that wild!). I chose a very cultural background for my pics, as I'm in front of the local theatre, a restored building from 1880. That's the kind of charm you can find in small towns!
I'm becoming a huge fan of bold floral prints, and these turquoise pants are one of my favorite pieces, as they contain most of my favorite colors. They're really comfortable too!. I've paired them with a purple pullover, a revamped piece which came from my own lumber room. It was an off-white pullover, then I shortened and dyed it in purple, and I think it looks more 'me' nowadays!. What do you think?

Esto es lo que me puse hace unos días para ir a dar una vuelta y hacer recados, que son algunas de las cosas que hago normalmente (soy así de salvaje!). Elegí un entorno muy cultural como fondo para las fotos, estoy delante del teatro local, un edificio restaurado del 1880. Este es el tipo de encanto que encuentras en las ciudades pequeñas!.
Me estoy convirtiendo en una verdadera fan de los estampados florales vivos, y estos pantalones turquesa son de mis prendas favoritas, sobre todo porque llevan muchos de mis colores favoritos. Y además, son muy cómodos. Los he combinado con un jersey morado, que salió de mi propio trastero, aunque era color blanco-roto. Después de acortarlo y teñirlo de morado, creo que se ajusta más a mi estilo ahora mismo, qué os parece?

How to wear summer pants (the whole year round)

One of the ways I like to make the most of my wardrobe is wearing some summer clothes the whole year round. Layering is key, obviously, so I’m used to wear (thermal) tights under breeze tunics and dresses, or satiny pants. Because I’ve realized that not every fabric works nicely as a layer. Satiny or shiny fabrics are a favorite, as they slide over your tights when you walk or move, and give you a floaty look. Perfect for a huge fan of comfort as I am!
Even under a coat, jackets and cardigans add an interesting layer of color, and accessories do the rest!.

Hay una manera de sacarle partido al armario que me gusta mucho, y es ponerse ropa de verano durante todo el año. La superposición es la clave, evidentemente, así que suelo llevar medias (gordas) bajo esos vestidos y túnicas ligeros, o pantalones satinados. Porque me he dado cuenta de que no todos los tejidos me valen para llevarlos así, los que mejor van son los satinados, porque se deslizan sobre las medias, y además te dan ese toque flotante. Son lo más cómodo!.
Incluso debajo del abrigo, las chaquetas de cualquier tipo siempre añaden una capa más de color, y los accesorios hacen el resto!
Y también me ha inspirado mucho este post tan magnífico de 'How to wear summer dresses in cool weather' en Mispapelicos, que es fabulosísimo!
He hecho un resumen de ocasiones en que he llevado mis pantalones de verano de forma no veraniega, espero que os guste!
