she's a lady

These days we've had visitors at home, so I've taken some pics of one of my mom's outfits, as she was looking particularly cool and elegant!. I've enjoyed it so much than I've been thinking on photographing many other stylish ladies I'm used to see around the city. Actually, I'm shy, and have no time to make it, but it's a pretty nice project!
Having visitors at home is really funny but it's also sometimes a little bit exhausting if you're an introvert as I'm. Some massive meals were cooked and consumed, and now everything is very quiet for a while, until next massive dinner on the 31th of December, and next one on 5th of January too (we celebrate a holiday on Reyes Magos here)
We've almost finished our search for a new home and there's a prospect of moving next month, so holidays are welcome!

Estos días hemos tenido visitas en casa, así que he aprovechado para sacarle unas fotos a mi madre, en un momento en que se puso particularmente elegante y estupenda. Me ha gustado tanto que he estado pensando en sacar fotos a otras estilosas damas que suelo ver por la ciudad. En realidad, soy muy tímida, y tampoco tendría tiempo, pero sería un proyecto de verdad genial!
Tener visitas en casa es muy divertido, pero también me deja algo cansada, porque soy un tanto introvertida y enseguida me agobio. Hemos hecho las típicas comidas enormísimas, y ahora todo está bastante tranquilo por el momento, hasta la próxima cena monstruosa de Noche Vieja, y la siguiente de Noche de Reyes también, tremendo plan!
Casi hemos acabado con la búsqueda de nueva casa, y hay perspectivas de mudarnos el mes que viene, así que todas las vacaciones son bienvenidas!

white & jeans

I'm even more busy than usual, and walking a lot, so I'm wearing very comfortable shoes (even more than usual, once more!). But all this walking is not because of Xmas preparations, but because we're looking for a new home, and that implies visiting a lot of flats through different neighbourhoods, and lots of previous searching too. I think it's a good oportunity to look for something fabulous!

Estoy aún más ocupada de lo habitual, y caminando un montón, así que me estoy poniendo zapatos muy cómodos (aún más de lo habitual, de nuevo). Pero todo este pasearse no es porque esté liada con los preparativos navideños, sino porque estamos buscando piso, y eso implica montones de visitas por diferentes barrios y también un montón de búsquedas. Creo que esto va a ser una buena oportunidad de encontrar algo estupendo!

Showing you my revamped shoes. I was looking for comfy shoes for my walks and excursions, and they were in a heavy discount so I bought them even if I disliked their color. I thought I could incorporate into my style. What was I thinking!? It was a mistake, and a big one. I'm not an earthy tones lover, and brown is a color I avoid actively. So I've felt frustrated by my purchase, until I took a risk and dyed the shoes. At least, now I'm wearing them, and doing it with a smile on my face.



Os enseño estos zapatos que he 'mejorado'. Estaba buscando calzado cómodo para paseos y excursiones y éstos estaban rebajadísimos, así que los compré, aunque el color no me gustaba. Creí que podría incorporarlo a mi estilo. No sé qué estaba pensando, porque fue una completa *#& de compra, no soy nada amante de los tonos tierra y el marrón es un color que evito siempre. Así que me sentía muy frustrada con esta compra, hasta que me arriesgué a teñirlos. Al menos, ahora me los estoy poniendo, y además con una sonrisa!

blooming madly

This is really a 'blooming madly (under a coat)' kind of outfit. My puff coats are coming out, but some summery dresses can be worn under a coat, particularly if you pick some matchy accessories and wear appropriate shoes. My blue boots were one of the best investments in my whole life. Instant boosting effect, warm feet, a little heel for comfort, and a bright color!, what else?. I think everybody needs some kind of fabulous winter boots!

Esto debería titularse más bien 'floreciendo (bajo un abrigo gordo)'. Ya han salido a la luz los abrigos acolchados, pero resulta que se pueden llevar vestidos veraniegos bajo los abrigos, en especial si eliges accesorios muy conjuntados y llevas el calzado adecuado. Estas botas azules han sido una de las mejores inversiones de mi vida!. Animan al momento, los pies los llevas calentitos, tienen ese tacón cómodo y un color brillante, ¿qué más puedes pedir?. Creo que todo el mundo necesita un par de botas de invierno estupendas!

teal dress & scarves

As weather is becoming colder and foggy, I feel more compelled to comfort, and that means winter dresses and booties these days. You know I love layering, but now it's time to do a sensible layering, avoiding bulky fabrics under a puff coat, or those fabrics that adhere together and get you immobilized (say no to cotton over cotton layers!)
Instead, I'm resorting to scarves and hats, which add a touch of interest (and warm), and they're fabulous to pick some colors to play with.

Según se vuelve el tiempo más frío y con esta niebla, me atrae más todo lo confortable, y eso significa vestidos de invierno y botines, estos días. Ya sabéis cómo me gustan las superposiciones, pero ahora es momento de hacerlas con un poco de juicio, evitando las texturas gruesas bajo abrigos acolchados, o esos tejidos que se pegan unos a otros y te dejan inmovilizada (sobre todo, nada de algodón sobre más algodón).
En cambio, siempre se puede recurrir a los chales y sombreros, que añaden un toque interesante (y calentito) y además son estupendos para elegir colores con los que jugar.
