maxi skirt & sleeveless

Back in the garage alley, I've taken photos of my last outfits for hot days. I try to keep myself cool (pun intended), so I'm used to wear light fabrics and keep the layering for accessories. Not a huge fan of sleeveless tops but these ones protect my neck and shoulders from the sun so they're nice for me (I even bought exact same top in two colors!). For sure I'm not suddenly concerned about modesty or age appropriate dressing and I'll keep on wearing sleeveless or low neckline tops as long as I wear sun block! (playing safe!)

De vuelta en el callejón del garaje, sacándome fotos de lo que me puse en estos días calurosos. Siempre intento mantenerme fresquita (con estilo!), así que suelo llevar telas ligeras y dejo las superposiciones para la bisutería. No soy muy aficionada a las blusas sin mangas, pero éstas me protegen del sol los hombros y el cuello, así que me parecieron bien (incluso me compré la misma en dos colores!). No es que me haya dado de repente por preocuparme por la corrección en el vestir y el ir apropiada a mi edad, porque pienso seguir poniéndome tops de tirantes y escotazos, siempre que vaya bien provista de protección solar (ante todo, seguridad!)

I'm glad to wear this floral maxi which is so comfy and flowy!. I made it of a strapless dress bought at a charity market, only had to cut it and add a waist, a single pass of the sewing machine. Previously, I wore it for the first time in a winter outfit.

Me alegra volver a llevar esta falda larga, que es muy cómoda y vaporosa. Está hecha de un vestido sin tirantes que compré en un mercadillo solidario, y sólo tuve que cortarlo y añadirle una cintura, una sola pasada de la máquina de coser. Anteriormente la estrené combinada con un estilo más invernal.

orange & white sandals

This outfit started with a pair of sandals, which I picked to run errands and go for a walk. I'm used to pick my shoes first and many times they determine what I wear. This kind of sport sandals (which are my shoes for walk nowadays, due to my ankle and feet issues) have not been a real challenge, after wearing sneakers for months!.
I've worn other kind of sandals for short walks (most of my sandals are really comfortable), but my feet prefer sport sandals, so I've bought another pair of them (in pink!). I'll show you next day!

Elegí este par de sandalias para salir a hacer unos recados y dar una vuelta, y a partir de ellas, todo lo demás. Es algo que suelo hacer, escoger el calzado primero, y muchas veces determina lo que me pongo al final. Este tipo de sandalia deportiva se ha convertido en mi calzado para caminar, por culpa de mis problemas de tendones y tobillos, pero tampoco es un nuevo reto, ya que he estado llevando zapatillas deportivas desde hace meses!.
También me pongo otro tipo de sandalias, en realidad casi todas las que tengo son muy cómodas, pero mis pies prefieren sandalias deportivas, así que me he acabado comprando otro par, ¡en rosa!. Espero poder mostrarlas en el próximo post!

went for a walk

I've been on holiday last week and cut down on my internet use, which has been shockingly easy to get used to. Actually, it's not so strange when you're exploring, walking through picturesque streets, visiting all kind of shops and cafés and sitting on cute terraces (oh, Paris!).

He estado de vacaciones la semana pasada y he cortado el uso de internet, y ha sido increíblemente fácil hacerlo. En realidad, no es tan raro, porque estaba explorando, paseando por calles pintorescas, visitando toda clase de tiendas y cafés y terrazas muy cuquis (oh, París!)

Continuing the clash of prints theme, I've paired my turquoise blouse with some printed pants. I went for geometrical prints this time!.
The weather hasn't improved, so I've kept wearing cardigans and raincoats last days. And my orange trench have received some compliments, which was pretty enjoyable and provided opportunities to chat.
However I'm always amazed when somebody tells me that would like to dress up in lively colors but doesn't have the courage to do it. I think that courage should be reserved for emergencies, not to dress up the way you like!.
Obviously, there are some other backhanded compliments, like "love that you're comfident enough to wear this" or "you look stylish/cool/beautiful for your size/age". I would like to have a witty replay ready for these ones!

Siguiendo con la mezcla de estampados, ahora he combinado esta blusa en turquesa con pantalones estampados. Esta vez he elegido todo estampados geométricos!
El tiempo no ha mejorado, así que he tenido que seguir llevando chaquetas y gabardinas los últimos días. Y mi gabardina naranja ha recibido algunos cumplidos, lo que siempre es agradable y además da pie para charlar, que está muy bien!
Por otro lado, siempre me sorprende que alguien me diga que le gustaría vestirse en colores más vivos pero que no se ve con valor para hacerlo. Me parece a mí que el valor es otra cosa, más para casos de emergencia, no para vestirte como quieras!. De verdad me sorprende.
Y también hay otros falsos cumplidos, como 'me alegra que tengas confianza para ponerte eso" o "estás muy guapa/estilosa para tu edad/talla". Me gustaría tener una respuesta ingeniosa para estos comentarios!
