blue birds

Despite some light rain, the weather has been quite good last days, so we made the most of it. Because we all know that these opportunities to go for a walk and take pictures will become increasingly sparse as autumn is turning into winter. We have to take advantage of any warm weather moment to go out and wear summer dresses and light coats.
This maxi dress was one of last summer favourites and it was bought second hand at a charity market. Originally a small size one, I could turn it into a dress that fits me properly (I worn it for the first time on May2019). I'm keeping it in my wardrobe the whole year long (along with some other summer maxi dresess), because it layers nicely. Viscose knit doesn't cling and it has a smooth texture, so it works over my polonecks and/or under jackets. Comfort is really important!

- blue turtleneck, La Redoute (old) / cuello vuelto azul
- sneakers, Nike outlet (old) / zapatillas
- coat, clearance sale (old) / abrigo, de una liquidación
- bag, Matties (retail) old / bolso, de tienda local, marca Matties, antigüito
- brooches, made by me / broches, hechos por mí

Once more we watched some storks when walking near the river, which you can see below. There were also some cranes and cormorants but I failed to capture any picture of them, as they fly away before I could take my camera. Next time!

  1. That dress is so gorgeous! I love the colour and the gorgeous bird pattern; very appropriate when you're watching, storks, cranes and cormorants! Love your new cardi/jacket with it - I can see it's going to be one of those really useful items in your wardrobe. Your map made by you brooches are fabulous.

Hope you have a lovely weekend; it's freezing here...

  2. How cool is it that you caught them in their nest?

The print on that maxi is wonderful. I agree, the older I get the more that comfort matters to me. Life is too short to feel pinched and squished.

  3. As far as I'm concerned, you cannot wear that maxi often enough on the blog, as my heart always skips a beat upon seeing it. It's really got the most amazingly stunning print ever! I'm loving that you're not just keeping it for Summer, layering it up with that blue polo neck and spotty jacket! You're a symphony in blue! Loving your photo of the storks' nest, which remind me of our Spring holiday near Bruges, where we spotted several nests as well. Have a lovely weekend, Monica! Besos xxx

  6. Storks! How cool! I love that your dress also has storks? cranes? on it - and I do recognize that as one of my favourite pieces of yours. I hate the darkness at this time of year!
