trousers & stripes

Switching between seasons can be puzzling and it's actually making me feel uninspired and perplexed (more perplexed than usual, I should say). So I've picked some trusty trousers, as I still baulk at the idea of wearing tights, and kept it comfy and colorful.
Linking Visible Monday, wearing lots of stripes, and wishing you a visible week and a slow fashion autumn!

I was looking forward to wear my recently sewed top, which I made of a second hand dress. The dress itself was only appealing because of its quality viscose fabric and colorful print, and it wasn't even my size. But I bought it anyway (2€), dismantled it and sew a simple peasant-blouse pattern. My secret is that one of its sleeves is made of leftovers from another sewing project (this top). So it's another 'Frankenstein-ized' cloth!.
I wore it layered over a striped shirt in the morning, but removed layers in the warmer afternoon. A massive tote bag is a great idea when you have to carry all the clothes you have to remove/layer through the day!

  1. So much colour and print matching inspiration here! Your deconstructed top is fantastic and I love the mix of stripes and florals, they look so fresh and interesting.
No tights here yet either! Our local postman have a challenge to see which one of them will pack the shorts away first and resort to trousers, I think I'm going to challenge myself to do the same with tights! xxx

  2. Uninspired? That's not what I'm seeing, as both your outfits are fabulous and fun. So many patterns and textures going on and still looking as if it was meant to be worn together. You are a true magician! As for that blouse you made out of the € 2 dress, it is an absolute triumph, and if you hadn't pointed it out, I'd never have guessed that one of the sleeves was made from the remnants of another sewing project.
