transitional orange

When Autumn rears its (beautiful) head, it is time to embrace some orange color and welcome a new season and lots of fun. Don't think in boring colors, orange is fabulous as a transitional color to help our wardrobes to go from Summer to Autumn. I believe it!
I've worn this maxi skirt that I made from a piece of fabric that I found in my stash. This fabric was used as a sofa cover twenty years ago, its color had faded, so it was not useful anymore. I decided to sew a simple skirt, something like a beach wrap or pareo, and make good use of its vertical stripes. Then I dyed it in an orange-red color, which was not what I was looking for, but that's the way it works sometimes!. I found this new reddish color quite difficult to match with any other color than orange, so I went for a total look. Next time, I would try some greens probably!
And it's time to join another fabulous Visible Monday! Had a visible week!

  2. I love this cheerful and stylish take on a "monochrome" outfit. The fabric for the skirt has a great pattern and the color you achieved dying it is perfect. Your bangles and necklace are delights. And a red trench is mandatory in any woman's wardrobe. (Don't think I missed those cute socks peeking out!)

  3. I love your skirt and the colour is marvellous. You look lovely and very autumnal but so cheerful!

You are very on trend with the trench coat as they are a 'thing' for autumn, I believe, but trench coats have never been out of fashion - they are a true classic. You are clever, not only making skirts; dyeing them but making jewellery, too! The bag from your mum is fabulous.

Hope you have a lovely week.
