revamped dress & blouse

I'm still wearing a wristband which almost immobilizes my hand, so I'm not using my computer, nor any other keyboard. I'm missing my blogging activities so badly!
This is what I worn some days ago, to go to the market. This dress was revamped previously, but I didn't wear it very frequently, as I still felt that it didn't fit my style. I was determined to make this dress work, so I sewed some kind of peasant blouse to wear under it, because I thought that some layering was needed. This blouse was made out of an old silky scarf and it was a nightmare to cut the pattern on a so slippery fabric. At least, it's difficult to watch any of my mistakes due to its gathered neckline!
I like this outfit more now, but not sure if I'm going to keep it or try another revamp!

  2. I'm sorry you can't use your hand properly! Hoping you will heal soon and sending all my best wishes your way!
I really think it looks stunning, this combination. Purple is gorgeous on you, and the combination of colors and patterns is stunning! Love your jewelry too. I understand that we need to feel like ourselves in our clothes, and if it does not suit our personality, then maybe it can find a better home (yes, I am doing a big purge these days). But I just wanted to tell you that you LOOK stunning in this. Great job on sewing too! Slippery fabric is the worst to work with. Do you use pins to keep the fabric together while cutting? In any case, I think it's a good idea to leave some extra room when cutting silky fabric, just in case. :)

  3. Sorry to hear about your hand. It's so debilitating when you can't use a hand as we use them so much. Hope it gets better soon. I agree with Natalia. I love the combination of colours and print. You are clever and very patient to revamp the outfit. I can't sew to save my life!
