autumnal shades

Many times things are better in your mind, like a fabulous color combo you've dreamt of, and then looks dreary when you wear it. And sometimes you have ten minutes to dress up, you're in a hurry, and then everything works together nicely, even better than planned. Because of improvisation, I've realized that this vintage skirt and my new cardi-jacket make a perfect couple!.
I like particularly the print on this skirt, don't ask me why. There must be a forbidden happy memory in my mind about it, as it's a skirt my mom was used to wear when I was a child/teenager. It's pretty infrequent when I can borrow something from my mom's wardrobe, but she has made some sewing to fit it to me!. Once more, this is better than new!

  1. Oh, your mum is great to have altered this for you. You are right - this jacket and skirt look like they were made for each other. And that great bag from your mum too. How cool that you can switch things like that.
Oh yes, the last-minute throw-it-together outfits sometimes have super magic. This is a great example.

  5. I totally agree...some of my best outfits were "thrown together" in a couple of minutes. Over-thinking things can kill the spirit. I am loving this colour combination on you...delicious and warm. Your pattern clashing/mixing is sublime AND those tights......Well, you know how I feel about them!! XXXXX

  6. I love the petrol blues with the mustard and the burgundy. Lovely rich, deep colours that look wonderful on you. Yes, I've been there too - the outfit that was flung together at the last minute becomes the success over the outfit that you've planned for weeks and then just looks wrong, wrong, wrong somehow when worn.
And that necklace is stunning! What a beautiful piece.
